She fell in the store and was genuinely hurt, having to go to the ER and instead of showing any concern, compassion, or responsibility, we were told it was basically her fault and that she should have been “watching where she was walking.” Hearing that after seeing your parent in pain is heartbreaking. No one even attempted to help, check on her properly, or acknowledge that the store should be a safe place for customers. The lack of empathy and accountability made an already traumatic situation even worse. Accidents happen, but the way this was handled was cold and dismissive. I truly hope management reflects on this, because no customer should ever be made to feel blamed or ignored after being hurt. The lack of care and professionalism we experienced was extremely disappointing. I hope management takes situations like this more seriously in the future, because customers deserve a safe environment and basic compassion when something goes wrong.
