Relocated to CBR area from SATX & was excited CC had a Rudy’s location. Made the trip to CC & ordered a pound of moist brisket & sausage. The brisket tasted awful… gamey & spoiled. The sausage had no flavor and was very, very, chewy. Over the last 20 years, I’ve ordered Rudys from all SATX locations, not once has the brisket ever tasted non-edible. This time, $33 worth of brisket … thrown away….no amount of BBQ sauce could drown the bad taste. BTW, what’s up with the tiny sauces? In SATX, the BBQ sauce size is larger than a nugget ‘dipping sauce’ container. Three tiny dipping sauces for a pound of brisket, how can that be industry norm? McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A give provide more sauces for an order of chicken nuggets. Subpar/cheap meat vendors and tiny BBQ sauces… someone’s ROI is banking 🤦‍♀️

This was a cool place. Cafeteria style dining, but in a neat way to serve up BBQ. Our cashier was very nice, informative since it was our first visit and allowed us a sample or two! We tried the brisket, chicken, sausage, turkey, ribs and pulled pork. Our group agreed that the pulled pork was very wet and had a vinegar, mustard but sweet flavor that our palates didn't care for and the brisket was ok. The brisket was tender enough, just not super flavorful. The rest was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed! We were not excited about the homemade sauces; vinegar and ketchup tasting to me. Overall enjoyable food, fun atmosphere and good people.

Bbq is always great. Service was always stellar. Except for Sunday. I ordered a ‘lean brisket hottie’ as I have so many times before. I was told years ago that was what the sandwich was called by a colleague when I first tried Rudy’s BBQ. I ordered that today and the staff member helping me said he didn't understand, so I repeated my order. He looked confused and said “what is that?” I said “it’s a lean brisket sandwich with jalapeño sausage.” He said when I order that sandwich I’d have to order that a certain way and that he “didn’t like” when customers ordered that way. He seemed annoyed with how I ordered. Before this, the staff was usually incredibly kind. Since I have been ordering this sandwich incorrectly for years now, my apologies to the staff, and I’m grateful they understood. I can accept polite correction, I won’t take being scolded. Feels like it’s time to branch out and find a new place for great BBQ in Corpus Christi. I’ll be sure to double check ordering etiquette before hand this time. Outside of this interaction, Rudy’s was always a really great place for consistently good Texas BBQ.

We're visiting fom MN & our son said we had to stop & have brisket. We were personally greeted when we entered (found out later he was the GM). The brisket sandwich was an excellent choice. The pickle, pepper & onion condiment bar was a nice touch. Also had potato salad, coleslaw & banana pudding. Everything was really good. The GM stopped by our table to see how everything was & we had a very nice visit with him. Highly recommend Rudy's to anyone wanting great tasting food.
