What an amazing first experience until my wife and I got our food. The fruit flies were horrible and my food was overly broiled with grease. The manager did offer taking our appetizer off the bill but this isn’t a restaurant that we’d ever visit again for sea food or fruit flies.

I do not see how this location has a 4.6 rating. I’m going to guess Josh is the only one pushing the stars. But this location is not what you call customer service. Wait staff walking around like they could care less. Management was non existent until a table of regulars was dining in. And just happen to walk their drinks over. And vanished again. Avoid this place, unless you’re a regular. BECAUSE THIS PLACE IS NOT A 4.6 RATING!! Go across the highway to Grimaldis. Ask for their Josh. This guy is for sure a 5 star!

We celebrated my mom’s birthday with a party of 20, and everything was perfect. Our table was ready when we arrived and Jeremy took amazing care of us the entire time. They even surprised my mom with a birthday card signed by the staff and Jeremy brought out a sweet treat with a candle and a birthday song. Such a thoughtful, memorable experience.

I was in Corpus Christi for the weekend and wanted some good Cajun food. Ultimately, one of the few places I could find was Landry’s Kitchen. I ordered my food to go and arrived to pick it up around 9:45. I ordered the read beans and rice plate as well as the talapia plate. The food was hot and ready when I arrived. Upon return to my hotel, though, I found that my food (the red beans and rice) was missing the andouille sausage. Additionally, it was not packaged as a meal but, instead, the fish, beans, and rice were in individual small containers which caused me to have to find a plate on which to put everything back together. Not a big deal, however, the missing sausage was. Since I was among the last customers in the building before close, I had to wait until the morning to call about the sausage. My wife’s food was fine though and was absolutely delicious. In any case, when I called in the morning, my goal was to let them know that they missed one of the biggest reasons many people eat red beans and rice ( the andouille sausage) and to maybe get the sausage. But when I spoke to the manager, Debra, without hesitation, she apologized and then offered to remakes the entire meal for free. I was genuinely surprised as you simply don’t see such prompt and courteous customer service nowadays without some back and forth. Yes, the missing sausage from the night before put a downer on my particular Mel but that did not make the meal taste bad. To the contrary, it was excellent… it was just missing the sausage! I was planning on reviewing the restaurant anyway because the staff were nice (especially the young lady with the dreadlocks that works at the bar) and, of course, the manager Debra. The red beans and rice was a 9/10 for me with the only “issue” being that the cornmeal used to fry the fish not being seasoned enough. The beans themselves could have been an entire dish by itself and the sausage was pan seared just right. My wife’s talapia plate got a 9.5/10. Whereas the catfish in the red bean plate was lightly seasoned, the grilled talapia was heavily seasoned. While it was fine for my wife and I, I can easily see it being too much for many people. But, overall, the food was well cooked and well presented excluding my first red beans and rice plate. And regarding that, it was explained to me that dishes with beans are not usually put together as complete meals because the beans will spill into everything on the plate and that’s why I ended up with little clear containers for all my food and not a normal to go platter. So keep that in mind if you order to go. I didn’t spend a lot of time in the building either time, however, I was there twice in the span of 13 hours and it is definitely a place with a lot of great ambiance and character. All the staff I interacted with were great and I think anyone coming out to Corpus should DEFINITELY give them a try. And, again, thank you Debra for your awesome customer service!

This was my first time joining our family for lunch at Landry's Kitchen. First of all, the food was excellent and 5 stars for the chefs! On the downside, when we walked in, there was no welcomes, no smiles, no friendly faces. We were told it would be a 30 - 45 minute wait. Throughout the wait time, the hostesses did not make eye contact with us or even gave a smile, at least reassure us that we haven't been forgotten. Multiple customers came in while we were waiting and not once did they receive a welcome, but they sure thanked customers as they left the restaurant. Also, It was very unprofessional to see one of the hostesses trying to discreetly snack on something while we were waiting. Restaurant greeters act as the first point of contact, providing a warm, professional welcome to guests and this was not clearly evident. Also, the waitress was not friendly as all, she took our orders as if she couldn't wait to finish with us, no smiles, and she never came back to asked if we needed water or soda fills. When my husband tried to get her attention, she did not recognized him. I clearly had to get up to ask one of the 3 young hostesses if we could get some refills on our drinks. The food was outstanding and I would return for another meal, but clearly there has to be overall improvements on customer focus and services.
