I work for a senior living community, and today we brought our residents out for an outing followed by lunch at Jimmy John’s. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. When my director went inside to speak with staff, she was spoken to rudely by the manager, who was not wearing a nametag or I would have included her name. They mentioned they had “so many orders” and seemed visibly frustrated, but that does not excuse disrespectful behavior. To make matters worse, another employee responded with an exaggerated “ohhhhhhh” in a mocking and rude tone.
This type of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially when serving the public. We were planning to dine inside with our residents, and I’m honestly grateful we did not, because I can only imagine how they might have been treated. As a community that supports and advocates for seniors, respect is extremely important to us. Due to this experience, we will not be returning.
