    Dined there Dec 29th, food was mediocre at best and the brisket in the beginning and toward the end was so fat that I guess it can topped out wagyu and indicate it is literally 70% fat and very good at filling your stomach and get you out of the restaurant, what’s awful about them is the service, hostess doesn’t know what she was doing, seating a 10 people part takes 10mins in front of us? Can’t find our reservation after we booked on resy and confirmed on the phone 1 hour prior before we got there, not much service going on and we have to intercept the waiter to serve us, in the end, we have 3 adults and 1 kid, they automatically charged 18% after tax on our bill, and without putting a sign indicating how many people and up will incur automatic tips, plus they didn’t inform you when handing your check, so possibly another bait for double tips!! BEWARE!!

    We made a reservation for New Year’s Eve on Resy. They just sent us an email that our reservation is cancelled ONE HOUR before we are supposed to be there. Didn’t even contact us or give us a reason. I just called and they said they don’t take reservations. We made a reservation. On Resy. It’s New Year’s Eve!! They didn’t even tell us they would hold a table for us. Really bad business practice. Go to Gyu Kaku instead!! (It’s delicious)

    The service was horrible, the first guy that was taking our order was very adamant about if the person did not get kbbq and eats anything from the banchans they would be charged. Very pushy and rude. We only saw him 1x after that then we got a different waiter afterwards that followed up. The appetizers looked and tasted questionable and the meat wasn't well marinated. They didn't even automatically bring us rice, we had to order that on the side. The robot delivered our first 4 meats, then the waiter delivered the others later when we requested (mind you the buttons did not work, we pressed them 3xs) we didn't even try or used the "free ramen" because we felt overwhelmed and decided to leave. We couldn't even take the bulgogi bibimbap to go. I'll just stick to GEN BBQ

    I’ve been here multiple times the past couple of years and it’s always been consistently good but today was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Our server Jack (tattooed sleeve & manbun) was completely oblivious to us and it’s pretty ridiculous how bad the service was by him. We sat with a burning smoking grill for 15min waiting for a grill change and also sat 15min before our waiter told us to “wait” and we eventually had to flag a different waiter. We had to wait so long between food and the attitude of our waiter was horrible. He rudely motioned with his fingers for us to grab most of the stuff FOR him throughout the meal. At this point we should be the servers for how much we had to do ourselves. Also the ssamjang was super watered down??? Not sure if it’s to cut costs, but it was not great. Overall, we all felt so disrespected by our server and we will never come back.

    I have been going to Moodaepo for years with groups upwards of 10 and never had such an awful experience. I haven’t visited this establishment since February of 2025 and it has gone downhill. I would like to preface that the restaurant was 60% empty so they can’t use the excuse of being understaffed because they were not. 1. They would not allow us to sit down without our full party, only 1 person was missing and yes I was on the wait list. 2. No sides were brought out and bbq was not turned on until we asked. 3. They didn’t bring half of what we asked and paid for. 4. It was extremely difficult to get their attention and no one came when we pushed the call button, we had to wave to get their attention. 5. The bill had a gratuity added without our knowledge and we’re not told beforehand. Service was non existent so I would have preferred to choose how much to tip. 6. Only two cards were allowed which we also were not informed of beforehand and told “I just work here” by one of the staff. My party has always been able to pay with multiple cards since visiting this establishment since 2022. 7. The staff was also MIA after the bill and I almost was about to walk out without paying but I have integrity unlike this establishment. And I finally got someone’s attention to take my card. I’ve always had such a wonderful experience at Moodaepo in the past with amazing service but everything has changed since I’ve last been there. I understand policies and staff change. However, this must be communicated to patrons before sitting down to enjoy a meal that can be quite pricey for a party of 5. It was also my birthday and I was so excited to enjoy some amazing bbq but the night was not as expected due to the terrible customer service of the staff. Unfortunately, I will not be visiting Moodaepo in the future and will be going elsewhere for BBQ.
