I went through the line with a digital coupon for an item that had the offer clearly displayed in front of it. When the coupon wouldn’t scan or type in, I brought it to the front for help. The woman who assisted me—wearing a white shirt and approximately 5’3” or 5’4” tall (her name tag was flipped, but she said she was a manager)—was very rude and dismissive. Her tone, body language, and lack of empathy made it clear that she didn’t care about helping me or resolving the issue. In times like these, a little patience and kindness go a long way. H-E-B has many great employees who make shopping a positive experience—unfortunately, this was not one of those moments.
