The only good (big store, big parking lot, curbside area is on the side of the store away from the main entrances) HEB in the Temple/Belton "metroplex." Good offerings of not only groceries, but other items as well. Produce and checkout staff is friendly, other than a lot of times there will be 3 people at checkout (cashier and 2 baggers) and inevitably one of the people will be more interested in a sidebar conversation with their buddies instead of bagging. And on the topic of bagging, they aren't very good. They don't put like with like, ie chilled with chilled, frozen with frozen, etc. They also overload the bags, or put one item in a bag by itself. The bags are already weak from recycling, overloading them causes stuff to get dropped. The only other downside because it's the only good HEB in the two cities, it's the one everyone goes to from the surrounding cities, making it too crowded. Given the population of Temple/Belton, and add in the surrounding areas, over 100,000 people, it's so strange that this is the only modern HEB in the area.

We were here on 11-24 bad day to go shopping. Especially if you are one looking to use your employee discount extra percent off. Very busy considering the holiday was a few days away. Many things were out of stock, the shelves were in a disarray, employes not always friendly. Yassy(Not sure of the spelling) was pulling orders and was on her personal cell phone with the speaker on in a crowded aisle. It is very annoying when an employee is on the clock getting paid to do personal things. The prices have been going up and are pretty noticeable. A few months ago, the fresh French bread was only $1.00 it is now $1.47. The quart half & half has finally gone up too. Hey they did have Breakstone Cottage cheese. Customer Service needs to be better. When you are checking out and you have 2 to 3 baggers bagging your groceries, they should be invested in the customer at the time and not having a conversation amongst themselves. I had to as numerous time for a paper bag. You do have some great employees who do stand out. On this busy day you had 4 registers open all in the same location. Bad Idea. The checkout areas are a nightmare at best when it is busy. You have 16 registers they could have been spread out.
