My husband are visiting Austin which we do a few times per year, and we wanted lunch, so we stopped in to Saltgrass. We were greeted by a very sweet young lady you made sure our table preferences were perfect. Our server was also incredible. She was polite, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. My husband ordered the early bird chicken fried steak with an upgraded side of smoked macaroni and cheese. I ordered the early bird grilled pork chop and a side of sweet potato French fries. The food was incredible! I was hesitant to order the pork chop because they can often times turn out very dry. I was so glad I did! The chop had great grilled marks, was just the perfect amount of salty, was incredibly juicy and was fork tender. I raved about it to our server, as well as another staff member who checked on us. Compliments to the chef on probably one of the very best pork chops I’ve ever had. My husband’s only issue was that typically a chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken comes with mashed potatoes, but since he also got the macaroni and cheese, he had more than enough food. Thanks for a great experience all the way around.
Atmosphere was neat. Our server was very sweet. I ordered the chicken fried steak. The steak was a little tough. I'll give it another shot and try something different. Food wasn't bad.

Me and my daughter are regular customers at the Saltgrass in the Hill Country Galleria…..the food and the service are always great. This past weekend we had dinner there and Samantha was our server. She was exceptional———very friendly and efficient! Keep up the great work Samantha!
This is my 2nd review of this restaurant. The first review was good, but, unfortunately, now I have to update it. To management: you think people can’t tell when they are being served subprime steak for high prices? Making the steak salty and cooking it in butter will not hide the underlying quality of meat. I had the 12 oz ribeye, which was very low quality. Table also had the porterhouse and the bigger ribeye, also not tender and juicy. Also the rack of ribs, which were burnt on the ends-why would you serve that? Is it because you slathered them with bbq sauce and hoped no one would notice? And the glob of mash potatoes served on the side was not warm and, I swear, had a huge unmashed potato in it. We are a big family and go out to have a good dinner for birthdays and other celebrations. So when poor quality food is served we don’t want to ruin the occasion by complaining at the table, but we won’t be coming back either.

We walked in and were greeted at the door by a young man. We looked around the corner to see if our favorite table in the corner was available and it was not. He said, "give me a couple minutes and ill have it ready for you". Sure enough, two minutes and our table was ready. A few minutes later we were seated and then greeted by two very nice, young ladies (one being trained) . Samantha was the trainer. She took our order and we had our food shortly thereafter. She was quick, professional, friendly and attentive to our needs.
