Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

- CJCalvin JavoisMar 22, 20261.0I visited this location on March 21, 2026 at approximately 11:57 PM expecting a simple late-night meal, but the experience was extremely disappointing and concerning from a safety standpoint. There was a very loud group of approximately 8 young men and 3 women inside the restaurant using profanity and behaving in a disruptive and aggressive manner. While I was seated waiting for my food, ketchup packets were being thrown across the dining area. I was unfortunately struck by splatters of ketchup while the group laughed loudly. The situation escalated when members of the group began teasing one of their own, and suddenly one individual violently tackled another. Furniture was knocked out of place, and the incident happened so quickly that had I not reacted immediately, I could have been seriously injured. The environment felt unsafe and completely uncontrolled. There appeared to be little to no leadership presence to manage the situation or ensure customer safety. In addition, the service was extremely slow. I waited approximately 45 minutes for my meal, and when it finally arrived, it was given to me in a bag even though I was dining in. The fries were cold, which added to the frustration. No customer should feel unsafe while simply trying to eat a meal. This experience reflects poorly on the level of supervision and service at this location, particularly late at night. I strongly encourage management to improve oversight, enforce standards of conduct, and ensure food quality and reasonable service times. Very disappointing experience.
