I absolutely love H-E-B! They are always my first and favorite grocery store. This location is great. It’s always clean, well-kept, and the employees are always so welcoming, kind, and eager to help customers out. I’ve never had an issue with customer service here. I will say that this store can become pretty congested and overly crowded, but that only goes to show that H-E-B is a top choice grocery retailer for MANY Baytonians.

Extremely disappointed with the bakery and the cake they made for my son’s first birthday. I knew they would not put the stars on the cake, but what they made was definitely not what I asked for or expected.

Lately I’ve been shopping here 2-3 times a week. For the last 3 months I’ve been wanting the meat department to slice my meat. Every time I ask they give me the runaround. One guy told me “you have to come at 6am” the other employee told me they don’t do it. The third employee told me he didn’t know how. The last employee told me they close at 5pm. So I thought maybe cuz I’m a girl. My husband asked a few weeks ago and they told him all the cutter were gone. Anyways I came across a nice employee. While I was looking for milanesa. He greeted me and asked if I needed assistance. I decided to ask him. He said yes I can do that for you. I asked if he could do two pack he said sure. Omg he made my day! The reason why I kept asking is because we just had a baby and having it sliced make it so much easier. We live 5 minutes away from heb. We were already deciding to take our business to Sam’s. Anyways thank you Alex from this afternoon at 1pm on 4/8/26 he was wearing a red beanie. Please give him all the kudos and praise because he made our whole week better. We need more like Alex in the whole department.

Love this store just wish they would do something about so many people bringing their dogs. Its literally disgusting trying to buy groceries when someones dog is panting in the aisle next to you.
I have been coming to this HEB since it first opened. The store itself is always well organized and very clean, and I truly appreciate many of the loyal employees here. Over the years I’ve built friendly customer relationships with several of them, which is one of the reasons I enjoy shopping at this location.
However, I feel someone seriously needs to look into how some employees are being treated.
I regularly order cakes from the bakery, and I want to say that Saide has always been incredibly kind, polite, and helpful. Unfortunately, my experiences with the rest of the bakery staff have often been the opposite. There have been several occasions where I’ve witnessed employees arguing with each other, using foul language, and displaying very poor customer service. I’ve even heard a sweet older employee being called “la marijuana,” which I found very unprofessional and disrespectful. The bakery makes wonderful cakes, but the professionalism and customer service in that department have been disappointing.
Another concern comes from conversations I’ve had while checking out. I often chat with the baggers and cashiers, and many of them speak highly of HEB as a company. However, several have also shared that they are afraid of certain managers and sometimes feel they are treated unfairly. I’ve heard complaints about a male manager who can be very condescending toward employees. These are things I’ve heard directly from different employees over time.
Lastly, I’ve also spoken with employees in the food tasting/demo department. Many of them have expressed concerns about their manager, saying they feel threatened with being fired or given “points” and that some feel they are treated unfairly or even discriminated against. When I ask why these concerns aren’t brought to HR, the answer is always the same: they’re afraid of losing their jobs.
I’m sharing this not to attack the store, because I truly do enjoy shopping here and appreciate many of the hardworking employees. But it seems like there are voices that aren’t being heard because people are afraid to speak up.
HEB is known for valuing its employees, and I hope the company will look into these concerns and make sure the workers at this location feel respected and supported.
