Usually very clean and staff is friendly. Shout out to Fernando, Shelby, and whoever the other person was giving radio instructions while checking the camera in the office. 8:30pm on 03/12. My mom lost her keys we searched for hours. Fernando had the idea to check the cameras, found to be in the flower area, both of them searched the flowers for a while and Shelby found the keys at the bottom of a flower pot sitting in the water. Thanks guys, saved the night.

I have been coming to this HEB since it first opened. The store itself is always well organized and very clean, and I truly appreciate many of the loyal employees here. Over the years I’ve built friendly customer relationships with several of them, which is one of the reasons I enjoy shopping at this location. However, I feel someone seriously needs to look into how some employees are being treated. I regularly order cakes from the bakery, and I want to say that Saide has always been incredibly kind, polite, and helpful. Unfortunately, my experiences with the rest of the bakery staff have often been the opposite. There have been several occasions where I’ve witnessed employees arguing with each other, using foul language, and displaying very poor customer service. I’ve even heard a sweet older employee being called “la marijuana,” which I found very unprofessional and disrespectful. The bakery makes wonderful cakes, but the professionalism and customer service in that department have been disappointing. Another concern comes from conversations I’ve had while checking out. I often chat with the baggers and cashiers, and many of them speak highly of HEB as a company. However, several have also shared that they are afraid of certain managers and sometimes feel they are treated unfairly. I’ve heard complaints about a male manager who can be very condescending toward employees. These are things I’ve heard directly from different employees over time. Lastly, I’ve also spoken with employees in the food tasting/demo department. Many of them have expressed concerns about their manager, saying they feel threatened with being fired or given “points” and that some feel they are treated unfairly or even discriminated against. When I ask why these concerns aren’t brought to HR, the answer is always the same: they’re afraid of losing their jobs. I’m sharing this not to attack the store, because I truly do enjoy shopping here and appreciate many of the hardworking employees. But it seems like there are voices that aren’t being heard because people are afraid to speak up. HEB is known for valuing its employees, and I hope the company will look into these concerns and make sure the workers at this location feel respected and supported. — A very loyal customer

I shop here for the selection but not the customer service. I’ve been greeted maybe twice in the years I’ve been shopping here. Recently at the self checkout I asked for a napkin so I could clean off the chicken blood on the scanner and the worker there didn’t say anything as she halfway cleaned it up. The manager-type then came to override the help screen, asked what was the last thing I scanned and walked away. Everyone always seems bothered or miserable and never really says anything. As a store manager myself I can see that this is a gap in customer service training across the board and I blame management because they set the expectations for their employees. Close the gaps and it would be a great place to shop.

I am so extremely disappointed in the Sushi items I purchased. I live in liberty so it's a bit of a drive to HEB Baytown. I bought 3 different platters for my lunch date today. It was horrible. We couldn't even eat it. I am tossing it in the woods for the raccoons. That's alot of money wasted. Do better HEB, because your my favorite store. Not even worth one star!

Huge grocery store! Clean, and plenty of checkers and self pay options. All the produce looked very fresh, lots of unique items in their brand and others. Extensive meat department, freshly made bread, sushi, pizza, and samples w attendees in a few spots throughout the store. Reminds me of a Whole Foods without the corporate feel. I wish there was one in Lake Charles (they would put these grocers here to shame)! Will definitely return!
