  Saw ads for HEB True Texas BBQ on social media and decided to give it a shot. The online ordering process was pretty smooth, but I would probably recommend just going in and ordering there instead. There wasn’t a huge line (no line when I got there) like at some other BBQ places, and that way you can at least get the food hot and fresh. Maybe because I ordered online for pickup, the presentation wasn’t the best. The portion was okay for the price, and the food was flavorful, but it did feel a bit overly greasy. Since it’s inside HEB, it still has somewhat of a “grocery store deli section” feel. I’m not sure if that’s intentional, but if not, I think they could find a way to make the experience feel a little more premium. Overall, it wasn’t bad, and I’d be open to going back and giving it another try when I’m in the area next time.

  Chris is clearly a great manager we're from California and Nevada and he really helped us feel at home hearing in Texas picked us up with two soda cups because we were out of town and showed us all the fixings and let us know about the new coleslaw he is a clear winner your restaurant should be praised as such with money and love thank you Chris

  Chris was extremely welcoming, as we were from Nevada. Wife and I split a brisket stuffed potatoes and coleslaw. The food was delicious. The employees were very nice, especially Chris. We'll visit again before we have to leave.

  True BBQ at H-E-B is so surprisingly good. You just don’t expect this quality at a grocery store restaurant. It’s not the best BBQ in the city or anything but quality for the price is great and their specials are always good. I got a lamb pita, churro pudding, and a beer for like 22 bucks. Not bad at all. Lamb pita was fire. Before this I usually went for the brisket chili which is seasonal but is a great deal too.

  Mane Mane! Me, My Wife and her Sister just went through Overall So quiet and all the employees are super nice! And BRE was so much help! She gave us everything we needed and checked on us, even went out of her way to make our drinks and get our silverware! Hope it’s like that everytime! First Time made us feel like Family! Loved seeing that she wanted to help! See y’all every Sunday from now on lol!
