Shoutout to Nadia! She’s a saint and let me live for this meal! I love this restaurant. I usually go for the crab fingers but they are not in season just yet. We went for a quick lunch before heading to the airport. I was asleep in the car 🤣😂! Nadia was such a sweetheart and found the cheapest way to make my meal work. I had gumbo - no rice because we had that garlic bread. Talk about heavenly and I don’t even really eat bread! I had the crab and shrimp salad as well. My colleague had the salmon blackened with shrimp! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 talk about good. We also had the featured drink - a peach side car. I wish I had time for 2! It was amazing. Strong and slightly sweet and sour. Whew. Do recommend when near a pappadeaux! Enjoy!

Food was amazing but the service was TERRIBLE, with the exception of our waiter. We had a large party arrive, with a reservation, and the manager wouldn't put tables together to accommodate. The restaurant was not crowed or busy. We ended up trying to fit 14 people at a round table. There was no room to put any food plates. We have been coming to this specific restaurant for years for birthday celebrations and have never had this problem before. We will be looking for a new location to host our celebrations.

We came to celebrate a birthday. Overall, we enjoyed the food even though we couldn’t finish the big servings. The start of our visit to this restaurant began well with Ashleigh being really attentive. Sadly, her attentiveness waned throughout the evening. She didn’t offer us any bread rolls (perhaps because we ordered bread with Parmesan?). Even after we asked her, it took a while that we had to ask the manager, Madison, to help us. Then our dear server offered us dessert but it took forever to get that slice of cheesecake. Our dear server was most attentive and concerned to the table behind us. When the check came, we were charged for four drinks instead of two. I’d like to commend Dean who asked us if everything was alright when he saw us waiting. It was evident that something as simple as good service could spoil what could have been a lovely night.

⸻ ⭐️⭐️ (2/5) My husband and I are regulars at the Pappadeaux on Research Blvd, and we’ve always had exceptional experiences—until tonight. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing and completely ruined our evening after a long work week. From the moment we were seated, our waitress, Chase, made us feel rushed and unwelcome. She was not pleasant and seemed uninterested in serving us. On two separate occasions, she cut us off mid-sentence—once when we were trying to order drinks and again when attempting to order an appetizer—telling us to “give her a minute,” only to immediately go assist another table she had already been attending to multiple times. It came across as dismissive and borderline rude. We tried to move past it and enjoy our meal, but things only got worse. When our food arrived, my meal was missing the rice it normally comes with, and my husband received the wrong type of rice. The staff member who brought out the food informed us they were out of dirty rice and asked if our server had told us—she had not. When Chase returned, her attitude remained unprofessional. As I declined substituting the rice, she responded in a condescending tone, saying, “So you ain’t want to substitute for anything?” as if it were an inconvenience to her. At that point, I calmly asked if there was an issue and explained why her behavior felt disrespectful. Her response was dismissive, stating, “It’s never that serious to me.” I asked for another server, and instead of handling the situation appropriately, she walked away and proceeded to discuss the situation with a group of servers and the manager, Armando, using exaggerated gestures. The group openly looked at us and laughed, which was incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable. When the manager finally approached our table, he came with an attitude and seemed completely uninterested in addressing our concerns. He repeatedly interrupted me while I tried to explain the situation and focused only on the rice issue, completely dismissing the real problem—his server’s behavior. At that point, we decided to take our food to go and leave. The only positive part of the experience was another server, Robert C., who stepped in to help us. He was kind, professional, and genuinely tried to improve our experience—we truly appreciated him. It’s very disappointing to be treated this way at a restaurant we’ve supported and enjoyed for so long. We were calm and respectful throughout the entire situation, and the attitudes we received were completely unwarranted!

Usually, Pappadeaux’s has excellent service and amazing food. I gave two stars because there was nothing wrong with the food. It was still amazing. The service on the other hand was very poor. We had a reservation and they asked if there was a special occasion and we told them it was our 24th wedding anniversary. They acknowledged and sat us in a booth right in front of the door on one of the coldest days of the week so we kept getting the draft from the cold. The waiter took our drink order and seemed to want to rush the food. The salad came out before we got our first round of drinks, which I had to ask the manager for as I could see them sitting at the bar and no one was bringing them over. This was on a Monday night and they were not busy.. We ordered our appetizer and again got the appetizer before the next round of drinks. We never received the French bread that they typically give you to go with the appetizer. Dirty glasses and dishware left on the table for extended periods of time as he took our next order. We decided we were done after the appetizer and constantly looking for a waiter and we asked for the check. He didn’t offer us dessert or acknowledge the anniversary. We paid the check and left. A good question to start service at the table is - “are we in a rush or are we going to take our time?”as we were dressed up for the occasion. I know Pappadeaux’s can do better.
