We had an amazing time! Our food was good and our server was awesome!!! My only complaint was the fans made it really cold and it was cold outside as well. Other than that we really enjoyed ourselves. Definitely will be returning in the near future.

I ordered takeout last night. Pappadeaux has always been my favorite restaurant of all time but recently they’ve been changing the menu so much. Taking away classics and adding stuff like pistachios and peanuts and pickles to their dishes. That’s crazy to me. Not everyone likes that stuff. But that’s not my issue. I ordered the “Rainbow trout and Crab” dish last night. The menu doesn’t say anything about it having peanuts on the dish. Yet it was covered in peanuts. The fish tasted extra fishy. In a bad way. When fish is fresh, it doesn’t have a nasty fishy taste. This fish was definitely not fresh at all. In fact it must’ve been old. The shrimp was way over cooked. There was maybe 4 pieces of crab meat on the dish. And the fish had no ounce of delicious flavor or seasoning that I’m used to from Pappadeaux. Not only that but the food made my stomach hurt. I thought I was going to throw up last night. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at Pappadeaux. I’ve never complained at Pappadeaux once in my entire life until now 🫠 I’m not even the type of person that likes to complain about restaurants which is why I didn’t even call and complain last night. Plus feeling sick, I didn’t even have the energy to do it. But I feel it’s necessary to write this review to warn other people to be careful so they don’t risk getting sick or wasting their hard earned money. Everyone knows that Pappadeaux is an expensive high class restaurant. But it did not live up to those standards last night. I could’ve got a better meal at McDonald’s and I hate McDonald’s. It really sucks because I loved this restaurant so much but now I don’t know if I’ll ever go back. Especially the way the menu is changing. But now after that bad experience I for sure won’t be returning to this location to say the least. Nearly a 40$ plate with tip for the curbside server. Insane. Don’t go to this location. If you must choose Pappadeaux, go to the I35 location or a location in San Antonio. Or my favorite location, the original location on Westheimer in Houston. In fact if you’re in Austin and want food like this, go to French Quarter grill.
