The last 2 I’ve been in have one single person at a countertop — with no register and he disappears in the back for minutes at a time. Meanwhile no actual registers are open. No employees visible. There is no semblance of a queue just customers standing here, there and everywhere. I’m not sure where to line up to order. Everyone that walks up shows some app on their phone. There are big menu screens around. Are they touch screen? Am I supposed to place my order there? On an app? Where do I pay? Where do I stand? I asked, “how does this work,” but no one was there. No.
