I am writing to express ongoing frustration with the produce availability at this location late in the evening. During my most recent visit, I had to collect small scraps of cilantro from the bottom of the crate just to assemble a minimal amount. You can see me on camera doing so maybe 10min before closing 1/10/26. From around 9:30 p.m. until closing, the produce section is consistently depleted, with little to no restocking. This is the only H-E-B location I’ve experienced where this happens so regularly.
I understand that staffing and inventory can be more limited toward closing; however, customers shopping late should not be expected to struggle finding necessary produce. I stopped by after work because I needed cilantro for my family’s late dinner, and despite clearly selecting leftover scraps, I was still charged for a full bunch.
H-E-B has a strong reputation for quality and customer care, which makes this situation especially disappointing. I’m sharing this feedback because this has become a pattern, not a one time inconvenience, and it deserves attention.

It’s okay, sometimes they leave the bread exposed all day so it hardens. Also most of their employees are inside instead of helping the shopping cart duty. I feel bad for the same guys pushing them back. Went a few times and there’s no shopping carts from 12pm-later

It’s as if this giant location is the dumping ground for other HEBs in more expensive neighborhoods. Meaning, food that doesn’t sell before new, fresh shipments arrive in those stores, gets moved here for last chance sales before the dumpster?
Produce is regularly near the rotting stage. Beware of refrigerated HEB salsas and guac - I’ve twice found produce stickers mixed in and once what I can only describe as a ‘fuzzball’. Last visit in Dec. 2025, I saw a salsa on sale (had the yellow coupons and all) but what was on the shelf expired in Sept.

This has to be the worst H-E-B in Austin! I ordered for delivery 2 lb of shaved deli turkey one peppercorn One mesquite turkey since I already had some left over from my last shopping trip I put it in the refrigerator until my family and I were ready to eat it upon taking it out I realized Not only was it not shaved at all but it wasn't even deli turkey it looks as though the person in the deli opened packages of 99 cent budding farms fake turkey slices and sloppily threw them in the bags. after eating a sandwich I'm now on my way to the emergency room because I've been vomiting ever since I ate it I buy my turkey from the deli since all the other packaged turkeys can't be trusted as authentic meat. And it's clearly obvious that this did not come from the deli or even a turkey for that matter. I'm expecting my first baby & My husband and I have noticed that the quality of the produce and supposed "fresh items" are never fresh! I've had molded rotting grapes delivered molded mildew cucumbers delivered. I've already contacted corporate because I've only gotten the run-around when I call the store directly. this is totally unacceptable. Whoever the manager over the deli is should be advised that I am coming for your JOB!
