This has been my H-E-B for 32 years. They just did a remodel and it makes me want to cry.... the logistics of it all are just silly, it makes shopping so much harder. One should not have to travel the entire store all the way left to all the way right.... Five different times just so the frozen food is the last place to go. It could have been so much easier, but I stick with it because the H-E-B family is kind and so hard-working!

Usually decently stocked, though often busier than I'd wish.

I feel compelled to share my experience at the Slaughter and Menchaca store, as I strongly believe I was racially profiled during an incident. What started as a simple issue quickly spiraled out of control, and I was made to feel as though I was trying to come up on the store. It was incredibly upsetting to be treated as though I had done something wrong, especially when in reality, the situation was caused by a lack of communication on the part of one of the floor managers. I want to acknowledge that I understand most of the employees are young and are just trying their best to do their jobs and go home to their families. However, I have been a loyal customer for over 25 years at this location and have never left feeling so terrible about how I was treated. This incident has been hurtful and concerning, as it raises worries that this kind of behavior could happen again in the future. I hope the store takes this feedback seriously and works to prevent such unfair treatment from happening to anyone else. _________Update________ Upon calling the provided number, I was able to document the incident and speak directly with the leader of this location. Donald showed empathy towards my situation and acknowledged that it could have been prevented. I appreciate their prompt response in addressing my concerns and do feel that I was genuinely heard.

The WORST HEB consistently!!! Always out of basic things!! Let me be clear-EVERY SINGLE TIME I go. Staff on the front end “helping” to pack your bags are rude and pack things incorrectly (fresh meat with raw veggies, putting cold items on non insulated bags when there is one in front of them). I have asked repeatedly to pack my own things only to be ignored. This place is the worst. Don’t let the other reviews fool you. I have been going here off and on for years since it is nearby. No more.. heading anywhere but HEB.
