Having grown up in Austin, I’ve always struggled to find truly great Italian food. We’re so glad we stopped in today because we just found a new favorite. My wife and I ordered the chicken parm and the tagliolini, and both were outstanding, honestly on par with Reale’s up north on 183. You can really taste that everything is made from scratch, which the family that owns the restaurant clearly takes a lot of pride in. Kaitlyn took great care of us, and our waters never went empty. P.S. Do yourself a favor and order the chocolate cake.

I visited Cousin Louie's for the second time yesterday, and had just as wonderful an experience as I did the first time. The food is absolutely delicious and was cooked to perfection both visits. The bread (especially the focaccia) is wonderful. My husband and I had the special appetizer of fried artichoke hearts with a lemon aioli, which the manager recommended when he sat us. Great choice, super happy with that decision. My husband ordered the prosciutto eggs benedict from the brunch menu and said he really enjoyed it. I had such a hard time deciding between pasta dishes, as I firmly believe there is not much better in this world than pasta made from scratch. I ended up choosing the tagliolini al limone (I guess we were in a lemon mood) with chicken. The pasta was perfectly cooked, sauce was not too heavy and chicken was seasoned perfectly. Perfect amount of fresh parmesan on top that looked like delicate snow. (Did I mention the dish was perfect?) With every dish, we cleaned our plates, and we went through 2 baskets of bread. Our server was very helpful, friendly, and attentive. (I am so sorry that I cannot remember her name.) We came in on a Sunday afternoon around 2 pm, so it wasn't crowded at all, and everything was brought to us very promptly. We don't live in Dripping Springs, so we unfortunately don't get the opportunity to visit Cousin Louie's very often. Thus, I decided to order the gnocchi alla vodka to go, which will be my dinner tonight. If Cousin Louie's had a location in my part of town, I'd eat here every week.

This one was hard because the service was great. The server was so nice & manager checked on us to make sure everything was good. But the food tasted like what I would buy in the frozen dinner section of the grocery store.

Service was TERRIBLE. We barely saw our server and had to wait forever just to pay and leave. He also ran my credit card twice causing duplicate charges. Food was very bland and portions were small. Just did not enjoy this place at all. Will not be returning. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Absolutely great family meal from start to finish. Everything we ordered was on point. The gnocchi alla vodka was soft, rich, and perfectly balanced—not too heavy. The chicken parm was classic comfort food done right, and the prosciutto & burrata was fresh, creamy, and a great way to start the meal. The agnolotti bolognese really stole the show. The handmade pasta and rich, slow-cooked ragù with the quattro formaggio was incredible—easily the standout dish of the night. We finished with the chocolate olive cake and it was the perfect ending. Layers of chocolate mousse, frosting, Luxardo cherries, and whipped cream made it indulgent without being overwhelming. Great wines and beer on tap, solid menu, great execution, and a place we’ll definitely be back to.
