We were told by a local that this was the place to go for Mexican food. Mind you were from a border town in South Texas so the bar is set a little high for us. We showed up for lunch and decided to stick to the core mexican food go-to's. Wife and I shared the Mariano plate which consisted of cheese enchiladas rice beans topped with beef fajita. The plate had great presentation was hot and smelled very good. As far as taste goes we felt it was lacking just a bit. The enchiladas were a little stiff as if the tortilla was undercooked or cold, the world class chili that they used was consistent with that of wolf brand, and the pico de gallo that topped the food really change the taste of the enchilada. My suggestion is to ask them to put the pico on the side because I believe it had too much lemon or it wasn't fresh. It didn't appear fresh for that matter. Fajitas didn't have any flavor, all we tasted was the runoff from the pico de gallo. It wasn't terrible but there was some room for improvement here. My son ordered a beef and seafood plate, Mar y Tierra. That plate smelled absolutely delicious. It had great presentation but again the fajitas lacked flavor. The shrimp though was absolutely fantastic. It was stuffed, bacon wrapped with jalapeno and cheese. This plate was almost perfect. Fajita portion was a little light and the flour tortillas they served we're definitely store bought but all in all was a very good plate. This was a very nice restaurant. The ambiance was very welcoming and decor provided a very authentic look. I think we're willing to give em another shot if in the area.

The waiter who served us was absolutely terrible—his service was abysmal. He didn't even introduce himself by name, and his demeanor was repulsive. I felt so uncomfortable having him as our waiter; if he doesn't like working as a waiter, he should switch to a different line of work.
The name of the waiter who served me is Alejandro. I had wanted to spend a lovely afternoon with my boyfriend, but the waiter's attitude ruined our plans.

Chris made our experience at Mariano’s absolutely wonderful! From the moment we sat down, he was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. He checked in on us regularly without being intrusive and made sure everything came out just right.
Excellent service all around—we’ll definitely be back and hope to have Chris as our waiter again!
I haven't been to the birthplace of the margarita in years as I don't travel to these parts often. Still one of the most consistent and best Mexican food spots in town. If your really feeling froggy and want to win at life, and it's a cheat day, go for the "Whole Enchilada". It's a platter as big as the table. It's not on the menu anymore but they didn't blink an eye when I ordered it, sans the rabbit food. I can't help it I am a meatatarious, mostly.

The food was way over priced, I was charged $24 for 2 small flour tortilla tacos, the churro beans tasted like they opened a can of pinto beans and threw a little rotel tomatoes on them. Very bland they problem would have tasted better if they would have connected the can beans with the rotel.
My husband meal showed $25 on the menu yet he was charged $32.
My son payed $19 for nachos
The waiter was nice and sweet.
The food was not even close to being good. We won't be back
