On my continuing quest to eat at "new to me" restaurants, today I went to The Lazy Dog in Allen. It's just over a mile from me so, very close. I looked at the menu prior to heading over and there were several things I was considering. It was Sunday and about 4:45 pm when I got to the restaurant. The parking lot has ample parking as there are several different restaurants nearby that share the parking area. I had no problem finding a place to park nearby although it did seem fairly busy. There's a good sized outdoor seating area but there was nobody sitting outside. It was pretty warm out though. I sat at one of the only open seats left at the bar. It took a little bit before someone acknowledged me. I asked for a Heineken and a menu. I ended up ordering the half pound cheeseburger with fries. When asked if I wanted my burger more medium or medium well, I said medium. The food took a little bit of time, which is perfectly fine. It did look exactly like the photo on the menu and it was hot and the toppings were crispy and fresh. However, both the burger and the fries were on the overcooked side and lacked any seasoning/salt or flavor. The burger even had a pick in it that said "medium well" (not what I ordered). Overall, the service, the food and the whole experience was just average. I could have gotten a much better meal and service for less money a couple of doors down at Portillo's. It's very disappointing because it's a clean, spacious, cool looking place with an extensive menu and a nice little bar. But, I definitely won't be back.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and to say I was impressed is an understatement! I’m visiting from New York and can’t say enough good things about the food and the service. Our waiter Payton helped me choose from the long menu and it was incredible! He made my experience fun while providing exceptional service with a smile. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Texas!

Have never had a bad experience at Lazy dog!!! Klarisa is a delight and has an amazing memory for her guests. They have always been amicable and super attentive of our wants and needs. She told us that the kitchen makes their recipes from scratch, which is rare. A lit of places these days freeze and ship their menu, so this was nice to know. The appetizers are interesting and not like most appetizers offered at other spots like the tikka masala meatballs and french onion puffs. Also highly recommend their cheese curds. The drinks are good, varied, and they have plenty of DELICIOUS non-alcoholic options for those of us who don't/can't imbibe. I'm a fan of the huckleberry lemonade, and cucumber lemon referesher.

I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken for take-out, and when I got home I found that what I got was Fettuccine Alfredo without the chicken although I paid for it. Not worth the trip back to the restaurant so I'm posting about it. Also got an order of lemon pepper potato tots which were great.

Went to have dinner at the lazy dog with my wife and puppy Blondie. We were seated on the patio, and even though there were other dogs, there was never any problem. Jackie came by and she loved on our doggie on her way out. Wife had barbecue ranch burger with personal modifications. It came out cooked medium well as described. It looked delicious and tasted delicious. It was double delicious. The salad that we ordered with this meal was beautiful. She says we need to use the word delicious again. It was delicious. My meal was a Mediterranean style chicken salad. The chicken was very flavorful. I personally prefer a little bit less done, but that’s my preference. She who must be obeyed and honored said that mine was perfect instead of delicious. I also had the chicken tortilla soup, which was beautiful in presentation and something that sounds like delicious. Maybe scrumptious Blondie, our rescue pup totally enjoyed all the special attention that she was getting including back scratches and special treats. We ordered her the grilled hamburger with rice and it was beautiful. What a bargain too. This was on the puppy menu. Her meal came with a complementary gigantic bowl of water which she promptly spilled all over the place. They were kind enough to refill it with another gigantic bowl of water which she did not spill all over. I tasted her hamburger and rice because a good pet owner has to be sure that it taste good. Yum For dessert, I had the banana pudding which was exceptional. Truly reminded me of what my grandma used to make. Wife had some kind of a s’mores brownie with ice cream and a chocolate cinnamon drizzle or sauce around it. It was fantastic. It was served warm with the cold ice cream on top. If that’s all that we had gotten for our meal, it would have been enough. That and the banana pudding. It would’ve been enough. Our server was cheerful and attentive, and we will come back. And we will bring Blondie back. And we will use the word delicious at least one more time. Highly recommend.
