Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
My wife wanted a burger for lunch. We had the option of WhataBurger or Heffs. Something that we can split. We should have gone to Heffs.
We ordered the new Bacon Wrangler Double. 1st problem, no one at the customer counter. We had to navigate the kiosk that was anything but simple. It kept changing our order when we were selecting options. There's no option for just the meal without additions. Then it asked for the tent #, so I had to go find a tent.
2nd issue. We waited for our meal...35 min later I asked an attendant for my number, she grabs a bag and hands it to me. I open it and the items were wrong. Then I noticed on the receipt it was for a named person. I take the bag back to the counter and ran into a gentleman who was waiting for...you guessed it, the bag I was given. Eventually we got our meal and wouldn't you know it; wrong burger. We received the standard single patty with lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. By now I was livid. I approached the manager and told her that this was the worst experience of a fast food restaurant since Burger King. She apologized and offered to make us a new entree, but at this point we had already started on the one we had and I just didn't want to stay any longer.
My take away from this; Management really needs to step up and fix this restaurant. The owner needs to up their game if they want to keep this facility viable. As word of mouth gets out eventually business will drop off, especially since it is on a busy interstate and this is a new facility. I would start by running 2 separate lines, one for drive through and one for sitdown/take out orders. This would mitigate the wait time for both orders.

Avoid this one at all costs. Its too bad that you can't give negative stars. Waited in the drive thru for over 30 minutes. Food was cold. Woefully inept staff. My patty melt was tasteless, the bread was barely toasted to begin with, besides the fact that it was cold by the time I got it, thirty minutes later. I asked for cheese on the whataburger jr. and did not get it either. This isn't the first time they've screwed the pooch in my experience, but it certainly will be the last time I ever come here. cannot say this enough: AVOID THIS WHATABURGER. Worst fast food experience I've ever had.
