Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

There is a seasonal burger called the Sweet and Spicey Bacon Burger. This burger is of the heavens. They sadly have not had this burger in years and it made me stop going here for the most part. HOWEVER, I asked this young guy that was ordering food with a management shirt on what he gets. He told me in his town they have a burger called the Sweet and Spicey Bacon Burger and my eyes lit up. I explained how upset I was that it never seems to be available in Abilene and he put me on game. He explained how to customize a burger to effectively make my own version with the sweet and spicey wing sauce on the side and added to the burger. I don't know if he will ever see this review, but I salute you sir. You singlehandedly retained me as a customer! Even though the staff here is... well if you know you know, I will continue to eat here because of that young gentleman. I wish I had gotten his name.
