Soooooo we came to Rainforest Cafe to get food and drinks, and our server was so kind and bubbly to everyone around us… but when it came to us, she was way less enthusiastic.
I couldn’t help but notice that everyone she was warm toward all looked like her and we were the only two who really stood out. I’m not here to assume anything, but I do pay attention to energy — and from the moment we sat down, it felt like she was already annoyed with us.
We sat at the bar and my friend did her drink order and I was going to get food but Lucky for me, I had only gotten water and just didn’t feel comfortable eating there so I canceled my food, because the vibe was just that unwelcoming.
Now I will say, Liz at Rainforest was sweet you could feel her kindness. But by that time, the vibe had already been thrown off.
Another woman who looked like us even suggested we try Chili’s, and babyyyy she was right 😂
The vibe at Chili’s was AMAZING. Anita and Emily were a breath of fresh air welcoming, attentive, and just good energy all around.
So if you want good vibes, good drinks, and to actually feel welcomed, go sit at the bar at Chili’s.
Rainforest… I see y’all hiring, and I just hope it’s to improve the experience. Because energy matters, and people notice.
It was a sunny spring evening the date was April 10th. Our best friend Bailey was turning 24 and ever since watching Ted Nivison’s hit YouTube video ‘I Went to Every Rainforest Cafe in America’ she has wanted to experience it for herself. After a 5 1/2 hour journey and spending the afternoon exploring Nashville we donned our tropical attire and made our way to the Opry Mills Mall. Upon arriving at the rainforest and checking in we waited a brief period before being seated during which we entertained ourselves with the many curiosities of the Rainforest Cafe’s gift shop.
Atmosphere
When entering the dinning room which houses the rainforest proper we passed under a beautiful arch made from three separate fish tanks each the home of colorful and exotic specimens. We were seated towards the middle of the rainforest which gave us ample view of the many animatronic exhibits scattered among the foliage. The periodic thunderstorms transform the atmosphere into one of lightning and shadow capturing the natural terror one might feel when oppressed by the crushing hand of nature, the wrath of Zeus poured out on earth. The effect is both singular and terrifying.
Food
In contrast to the mesmerizing environment the food quality was somewhat underwhelming though the portion sizes were generous. I partook in the Chicken Bruschetta which included two pieces of chicken parmesan topped with chopped and seasoned tomatoes, a small portion of Alfredo, and four pieces of shrimp scampi. The chicken was well seasoned but somewhat overcooked, the Alfredo well textured but somewhat flavorless, and the shrimp was both overcooked and without flavor.
My spouse enjoyed the Bamini Chicken which was fried and season excellently with a subtly sweet sauce which earned it high praise by the table.
The lady of the evening ordered the Jamaican crazy steak which came with a side of rice and sautéd peppers. The texture of the steak was oddly soft like that of a pickle which has been sitting to long in its own juices.
Service
Our guide for the evening, Jazz, was both polite and professional, making sure we were well looked after and answering questions with insight and demure. Our food arrived promptly after ordering and we never waited for refills or the check when our evening came to a close.
Summary
Overall the experience was unmatched despite the mixed quality of the food served, that small disappointment was far outpaced by the immersive environment and quality service. A well earned 4.5 shall be awarded.

I had a very disappointing experience at Rainforest Cafe at Disney last night. I was really looking forward to eating there because the theme and atmosphere are supposed to be part of the fun, but unfortunately the experience turned out to be the opposite.
The first problem was the smell. The section where I was seated had a very strong odor that smelled like vomit. It was extremely unpleasant and made it difficult to enjoy the meal. It didn’t seem like the area had been properly cleaned or addressed by the staff.
The second issue was the food itself. After eating there, I became very sick later that night with symptoms of food poisoning, including vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and chills. Needless to say, that completely ruined the rest of my night and left me feeling terrible.
Between the strong odor in the dining area and getting sick after eating the food, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. I really expected much better, especially from a restaurant located at Disney. I hope management takes cleanliness and food safety more seriously so other guests don’t have the same experience.

Wow!! This place is totally AWESOME in every way. This was our 1st time visiting and we were amazed at the decor, the animated animals, and the occasional thunderstorm. Our server was KeKe,She was very attentive to every detail, introduced herself, with a smile, also answered all of our questions about the menu items. We didn't have to call her for refills or anything
She knows her job and does it well. We need more KeKe's as servers.
Kudos to all because some more servers that I noticed all wore smiles on their faces
Excellent job to the cooks for getting the good out with perfection. My husband and I was visiting here for his birthday . Keep up the Great work!!

I am incredibly disappointed with our recent visit to the Rainforest Cafe.
As a child, I have wonderful memories of going to Rainforest Cafe with my parents, and I was so excited to share that same experience with my own kids. They had even seen it on YouTube, and we had been talking about this visit for months. In fact, we drove 4 hours to Nashville for spring break, and eating at Rainforest Cafe was one of the main reasons for our trip.
We visited on a Monday night, and the restaurant was mostly empty. We were initially seated at a table where we couldn’t see any of the animals. Since there were many open tables, we politely asked if we could move to a spot where we could actually enjoy the experience. I normally would never ask something like that, but this was a special trip for our family. Unfortunately, the staff acted as if this was a major inconvenience and repeatedly said they were “trying to figure something out.”
Eventually, we were moved, but the experience did not improve. Our server greeted us and said she would be right back, yet it took about 30 minutes just to receive our drinks, and another 30+ minutes for our food, despite the restaurant being far from busy.
We stayed positive because we were determined to enjoy the experience we had been looking forward to for so long. I fully expected higher prices and understood we were paying for the atmosphere. However, the food quality was extremely disappointing.
My son’s mashed potatoes were inedible, he took one bite and refused to eat them.
The mac and cheese was barely touched, and even his sister couldn’t eat it when he offered it to her.
My daughter’s Alfredo pasta was tasteless. Of course, she wouldn't eat it.
I ordered a burger and took it home, only to find it just as disappointing and had to throw it into the garbage. It had a horrible taste and was extremely dry.
For the price, the quality of the food was unacceptable. I even found myself forcing down leftover food from the kids simply because I didn’t want to waste what we had paid for.
This was supposed to be a special, memorable experience for my children, and instead it was frustrating and disappointing from start to finish.
We will not be returning, and unfortunately, I would not recommend this location to others. We let the restaurant know of our experience. However, we were ignored. I expected so much more from Rainforest Cafe.
Sincerely,
An extremely disappointed family
