There are plenty of steakhouses in Nashville to choose from that offer similar pricing. Key differentiator becomes service and small details and Oak Steakhouse is excellent in both. Loved getting a no-fuss service from an experienced waiter. The waiter did not perform a typical "tonight's specials" monologue but served thoughtfully (a special skill in hospitality). Sides sometimes get forgotten at steakhouses so it was a surprise for me to genuinely enjoy lobster mac and cheese, fries, and brussel sprouts. Taking out a star for food because of a small hiccup on a tomahawk steak that was supposed to be medium rare but other than that, it was a wonderful time. Hopefully you get seated in one of the booths because it's the best seating option at the restaurant.

Friday night Dinner day after Christmas. We had a wonderful experience at Oak, and Lindsey truly made our night exceptional. She was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her service was warm, professional, and perfectly timed, which made our dining experience feel special from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a better server—thank you, Lindsey, for outstanding service! From Troy & Julie

Came in with a group of coworkers. Everything was great except we had a "trainee" waiter, and I don't know if that was the difference or what, but I had little (and big) nitpicks here and there. Like I asked for a bourbon neat (which of course is without ice) and he brought it with a big honking ice cube in it. Okay, that didn't bother me as much. Ordered a NY Strip steak cooked medium. When I received it, it was burnt to a crisp. I could not believe a "steakhouse" restaurant cooked it so well done. I grazed on it nonetheless because I was already full anyway, but I really wanted to enjoy my steak. I asked my coworker who also ordered steak cooked medium how hers was and she also had hers burnt almost beyond "well done". She didn't send hers back either because she had another engagement. Most of my other coworkers ordered seafood or something else, otherwise I would have asked them as well. I can see Chili's maybe messing up your $20 steak order, but when you get a $80-$100 steak, I think the general expectation is that it is cooked correctly to order. I would have even maybe taken medium well, but it was way beyond that. The appetizers and side dishes were good, and the experienced server was excellent which probably what saved the day for me. I may have experienced an off day for the cook or my order may have been put in wrong, but I don't think I'm going back anytime soon.

I loved the décor and overall ambiance of The Oak Steakhouse—it’s very elegant and visually appealing. They offer valet parking, which is free. Be sure to get the code they provide so you can retrieve your car when you leave. I ordered the NY strip steak for $68. Do I think it’s worth nearly $70 (before tax)? Honestly, no. I’ve had much better steaks for less at small bar-and-grill spots. It wasn’t terrible by any means—it was fine—but for that price point, I expected more. I even feel like I could’ve done better at home for a lower cost. I ordered it cooked medium and would rate the steak a 5.5 out of 10. Sides: Mashed potatoes: 6.5/10 Brussels sprouts: 6/10 — slightly burnt. Without the burnt flavor, these could have been much better. Lobster mac and cheese: 5/10 — the noodles tasted overcooked. One highlight was the wine. The $60 recommendation was excellent and honestly the most exciting part of the experience for me. The staff was friendly, fast, and very polite. However, the timing was an issue. We arrived and ordered around 8:00 PM, but our food didn’t come out until about 9:30 PM. By then, I was already enjoying the wine, so it didn’t bother me too much—but it’s still worth noting. Overall, I personally don’t feel The Oak Steakhouse is worth the price and found it to be overpriced. That said, don’t let my review discourage you—everyone has different tastes and experiences.
