My girl Jalyn was fabulous, and she was very kind and helpful with choosing what to order. The atmosphere, pricing, and food was also great.

Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing, especially compared to our past experiences here. The service was very poor from the start. As someone who has worked as a server before, I’m usually very understanding, but this went beyond normal issues. Our server never even introduced herself and took over five minutes to come to the table to begin taking our order. Throughout the meal, she rarely checked in, and there were long gaps between interactions.
Our orders were very simple, yet everything took an unreasonable amount of time. Toward the end of our visit, I added a crunchy LA roll (Literally a Cali roll with panko and Sweet Chili sauce), and it took 20–30 minutes to arrive. We asked for ice and by the time our server came back in 20+ minutes, one cocktail was warm. This was during "happy hour" between 3–4 PM on a Sunday, with only about 5–6 tables total in the entire restaurant and two servers on the floor. Despite this, we were there for over an hour.
What made the wait even more frustrating was seeing multiple staff members standing around watching one person prepare food. The food itself was alright, but absolutely not worth the price when you factor in the long waits and poor service.
What’s most frustrating is that we’ve been here multiple times before, including once when it was much busier, and the service and food were noticeably better. On a previous visit, we were even charged full price during "happy hour" (which we didn’t realize until we had already left for an event, but its our fault for not checking before paying), but still had a better overall experience than this time.
This visit really upset everyone in our party, especially since one person was visiting and we were hoping to give them a great experience. Because of how poorly this was handled, we won’t be coming back.
It's not worth paying for parking near Broadway and gambling what kind of experience we are going to have for that price point. They do have a great atmosphere, which drew us in initially.
I am not looking for and do not expect anything in return as a result of the review, just being flat out honest about our specific experience.

Wanted to report your hostess, the short black woman with the neck tattoo and false eyelashes, for her incredible rudeness and unprofessional behavior. We walked in at 1 pm Friday last week and my spouse asked for a table for two. She barely acknowledged us or looked up. She got up, pointed her index finger at me two times, and rudely said “wait” twice, as if Im a dog in training. She walked back to the kitchen and stood around for ten mins doing nothing. There were no takeout customers waiting behind us. There were no other people waiting in line to be seated. There were plenty of open tables. She made us wait there for over ten minutes and then sat us at a wet table, acknowledging that it was wet. A black couple came in right after us and were seated immediately with no attitude from the hostess. I feel we were profiled and treated hostilely even though I said nothing to her. She was wearing leggings, sneakers and a ratty sweater that looked unprofessional for such a restaurant. I have never had issues at your restaurant before. The food was good and our waitress was great. I can only assume that hostess is a racist. Her attitude is unacceptable and she is a deterrent to customers.

At this price point, I expect fresh food, an accurate order process and reasonable value for the money. This establishment failed in all three areas. We asked a few questions about the brussel sprouts and ordered drinks, only to have them magically appear at our table out of the blue. Not my idea of proper table service. The calamari tasted old, pre-packaged and it arrived cold to the table. The lettuce for the wraps was wilted and clearly not fresh. As for the ceviche, it was decent as were the 6 pieces of nigiri salmon sushi we ordered. This place is not my idea of a good japanese restaurant and does NOT represent decent value for the money.
