  Our server was great and the atmosphere was beautiful but the food is horrible!!! The Mac and cheese was not even hot. It was almost cold with what looked like Ritz crackers on top?? Had little to no cheese? It's called Mac and cheese!!!! Very small portions. I ate only because I was starving and I was paying for the meal. Ended up getting something else to eat later on in the evening. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

  Booked this restaurant for Christmas dinner while staying in Gatlinburg for a party of four. I should have done more research as this restaurant is attached to what most consider a time share resort, I have eaten at three other restaurants like this (attached to an timeshare) and found them horrible. The waiter was good and polite but you could tell he was overworked. The restaurant was not full but we still waited nearly 10 minutes for our drinks and almost an hour and a half for our meal (they still forgot to bring a side). There was no manager in sight to help or expedite any of the wait staff. The food was over priced and had no flavor, my wife does not eat meat or spicy food and ordered the fried green tomatoes minus the pimento cheese / bacon jam and it was so spicy she could not eat it. I had the shrimp and grits with a side of Mac and cheese. Greasy tasteless entree and the Mac and cheese was worse. Southern Comfort should remove their name from this restaurant because the food quality is embarrassing. I think they only survive due to the mass of elderly people with compromised taste buds who have time shares at this location.

  My parents are owners at Westgate Resort in Gatlinburg TN, so we visit with our family here several times a year. Southern Comfort ( the bar ) has become a ritual for us- and we've never once had a bad experience! In addition to the beautiful holiday decor this December, the live music made for easy listening as we laughed, talked and made new friends! What REALLY makes this bar a great experience isn't just the great food (which comes from the Southern Comfort restaurant attached) but it's the BARTENDERS. Specifically Melissa, a beautiful and fun loving woman who obviously loves what she does! Always smiling, Melissa knows her way around a moonshine bottle, and it shows!! She's amazing with the residents and guests who are staying at the property, and treats everyone like family! In all my travels, I've never encountered a bartender as attentive and knowledgeable when it comes to specialty drinks. We always have a lot of fun in this bar- so if you're in Gatlinburg for a holiday or live nearby, Stop by the Southern Comfort Bar inside the Westgate Resort. Ask for Melissa, and she'll make you the BEST Smoked Ole' Fashion you've ever tasted!
