Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
First experience at this location. Went inside to dine in. One register open. Took forever to order. People were leaving the restaurant because they had stood in line so long to order food. Ordered two meals one bacon cheese WB plain meal, an other plan triple cheese WB. Once we ordered took forever to get the food. As it seemed they only cared about the drive through orders. A manger brought our food out to us She didn’t bring any condiments with her and was bothered with the fact that we asked for ketchup and she had to come back. Entire time she was on her cellphone while others worked. Both of the burgers we got were smothered in mustard. The bathrooms were disgusting. One toilet was stopped up. No toilet paper or paper towels. Floors needed to be mopped. Overall the experience was not pleasant. Only positive feedback I can give was the burgers and fries were fresh and hot.

DON'T EAT HERE! 1HR FAST FOOD! WORST WHATTABURGER LOCATION IN US! 3/22/2026 Waited a hour to get half of my order on a sunday night in the drive thru.
Called and they said they would remake the patty melt they left out. Then waited another 20 minutes in the lobby for them to remake my food a 3rd time becuase they made it wrong. Everyone in the lobby had been waiting on their food 40 minutes as well. And they will not refund your money when you are tired of waiting so you have to keep waiting till they finally give you your food. when you They are not short staffed. Just really good at waisting people's precious time.

I waited over 25 minutes to receive lukewarm/cold fries, a burger I can’t eat due to allergy (didn’t realize they didn’t listen to me say “plain only bacon and cheese” until I got home) and cold wings with hardly any sauce on them. I feel like I would still be waiting there if I hadn’t inquired myself with one of the employees walking by.
I come from a fast food background myself in previous years. I get rush hour. But, warm food and speedy service is the minimum customers want. After seeing customers who ordered way after I did get their food, I started to inquire what was going on.
By my experience, it feels like my food sat around in a bag for too long before I, the customer, decided to check in to see what was going on. And I can’t even eat the burger due to an unfortunate allergy.
Not a great experience. Not like the ones out west.

I've heard so much about how amazing Whataburger is. I've been waiting to try it to let the craziness die down a bit. My friend and I wanted lunch at work today so I decided the line wasn't that long so it was time to finally try Whataburger. I waited about 20 minutes in line to get two mediocre burgers that cost over $17. No drinks, no fries, just two burgers. The burgers were big, but that's the only thing I can say positive about them. I was asked what I wanted on my burger and said "everything", which was supposed to include mustard, ketchup, onions tomatoes, and lettuce. What I got was a ton of mustard, lots of lettuce, really strong onions, and a couple of thin slices of tomato, no ketchup. The mustard and onions were so overpowering that I couldn't taste my burger, or even the bacon on the burger. The service was ok. Nothing special. As far as I'm concerned, there are a lot of places that put out a tastier burger for a lot cheaper. I probably won't be back.

Seating capacity is extremely low for a chain this size and demand. This unit is on a state line and a major interstate. When we stopped to eat the double drive thru was backed up to the lot entrance. It blocked the handicap parking. Luckily there was a spot near the sidewalk and easy to access.
Now for service experience.
I make a habit of remembering the last car in huge lines like that if I go in. Even though we had a wait inside for a seat we were still able to order, find a seat before it was ready, eat, get back out to the car l pointed out the car receiving their order to my wife. It was the same car at the end of the line as we walked in.
So my recommendation if you want to eat here. Don't be in a hurry and prepare to wait. That goes for drive thru or dine in.
