Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Soooo.. I go into this restaurant at 2:49 a.m. for a doordash pickup. As I approached the counter I hear voices as I wait there but nobody even acknowledges somebody in the dining room. I even used the restroom, and when I came out, still nothing. At which time I received another doordash order. I then noticed somebody driving through the parking lot heading for drive-thru..... Keep in mind I had two orders for doordash before this car came through the parking lot... And when they pulled up to the microphone...... They were acknowledged immediately...... Order was taken. I then noticed another car heading for the drive-thru, and you guessed it....... Acknowledged immediately, and order was taken. At this time I noticed the first car from drive through was parked next to my truck by the front door..... And lo and behold, here comes the second one from drive-thru parking next to that one. About 2 minutes later here comes the manager with the order for the first car. That ordered after both doordash orders were in. He promptly said I'll be right with you, went out and handed them their food, and came back in and asked me who I was there for. At this time I told him the names of the two customers that I was there to pick up for. His response was, I quote, those orders just came in so we're going to get on those..... This after I had been standing there for at the minimum 10 minutes now. So I look at the time, took a seat, and patiently waited. Exactly 5 minutes later, the manager comes out from the kitchen, with a bag for the second car that came through drive-thru. At which time he told me, your order will be right up sir. I don't know about Whataburger, but I thought customers that order first..... Should get their food first. Apparently I'm wrong. Cuz when I said something to the manager when he came back in I asked him a simple question, and I quote, how did they get their order before doordash when doordash orders came in before the drive thru orders even pulled up. But I couldn't even get the last part out as he interrupted me telling me that I'm doordash and all he has to do is put the stickers on the bag..... And I said that's not answering my question that you rudely interrupted me on. And he started saying something else and I returned the favor by interrupting him and telling him that obviously he likes to argue because I overheard him arguing with the cook when I first arrived. There's two things I don't like about this...... The disrespect from the manager by interrupting me and by serving other people when they order after doordash people. Isn't doordash the majority of the late-night business? I'm pretty sure they are. And the other thing that bothered me, and always has, is why do they make people park around the building when they go through drive-thru when there's nobody behind them? That's called cheating the drive-thru time. So they can get a bonus apparently so that's what we do nowadays. We give bonuses to people who lie about their drive-thru time. This part of the complaint goes for all the fast food restaurants out there, cuz they all do this. So with all the people struggling in this world we give bonuses out to people for lying. But I'm a customer first oriented person, and I think I was more upset than the customer actually was. But why should it take 24 minutes for two orders.? The orders only contained one burger, one French fry, and one drink each. So..... Two burgers, two french fries, and two drinks, should take 24 minutes?

My order was made wrong. I took the survey and let them know and they are going to fix it next time i come in. I appreciate that a lot. I will give it another try. No one is perfect.

Riddle me this: What's the purpose of operating 24/7 if you can't sustain quality food service 24/7? For reference, order #583657 was placed at 11:31p on 3/14/2026. I immediately complained that the fries were saturated in grease/oil & requested fresh, not double dipped fries. "Oh, we've been getting complaints all night. We need to change our oil." If the problem has been identified, implement the solution. Do better.
