The problem wasn’t the kitchen being behind.. it was how the staff were handling the orders. At McDonald’s, you’re not supposed to clear an order off the screen until you’re actually handing it to the customer. But I watched an employee hit “served” on multiple orders way before they were even bagged. In my case, I saw my customer’s order get marked as served, and then I stood there another 10 minutes before anyone even started bagging it. They were also sticking the order stickers onto the screen, which cluttered everything and led to staff getting confused about which order was actually next. This caused a major, unnecessary delay for me and creates a huge risk of mix-ups for customers. Management needs to address this, because clearing orders before they’re ready defeats the whole purpose of the order screen system..
