Everything was bland. Patty was bland. Rest of burger was bland. Sauce was bland. Fries are weak. I got a poutine but I would have got a better poutine at McDonald's, the Fries cheese and gravy were all low tier and cheap. Chilly cheese fries were just as bad. Only reason it gets 2 stars was for being slightly cheaper than fat burger.

Ordered the combo with crispy chicken, fries, and a milkshake for takeout. The food was fresh and delicious, especially the crispy chicken. Packaging was secure and well done. A great option for crispy chicken lovers.

No other way to describe my experience going there than using the word mid. Very expensive for a small burger portion and the gravy they use is the same stuff from McDonalds which just tastes off. The burger was pretty small, but the milkshake was 10/10 and worth it.
$70 for 2 burgers and sides and milkshakes is very expensive for a fast casual restaurant that you could go to browns right down the road. The whole strip mall seems to have mid food and overpriced menus. Par for the course being in the greens

I had a wonderful first experience trying Wayback Burgers. We were greeting immediately upon entering with a friendly smile and hello. That set the stage for great service for our visit. While you order at the register, they delivered our food to us at the table and came back to ask if everything was ok. The burgers were all terrific. I had the A1 burger which was delicious . They cleared the table as we were finished but never made us feel we needed to leave. They were doing a bustling business! I hope they will continue to be successful.

2nd Feb 2026 visit:
We ordered the Red Velvet Cupcake Signature Shake ($7.99), a Chocolate Original Shake ($6.99) and the Regular Irish Nachos (free when you sign up for rewards, value of $6.69).
Going to be honest, the reason you don’t see the Irish nachos was because they didn’t look appealing at all. But what the Hell, they were amazing! If they had an extra large size, I’d immediately order it. They are house made potato chips, topped with chili, jalapeños, onions and cheddar jack cheese. I could crush these any time of day.
As for the milkshakes, I’m still in love. The red velvet truly tasted like you’re drinking a red velvet cake. It was blended with red velvet cupcakes and vanilla ice cream. While good, my favourite is still the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Chocolate was good as well but the signature shakes have that Wow factor.
1st Feb 2026 visit:
This was a highly anticipated review and my first wayback burger experience. We got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake ($7.99), Vanilla Shake ($6.99), A.1. Steakhouse Burger ($11.49) with fries ($4.69) and the Sweet Bacon Burger ($11.99). While decent quality, I feel the burgers are pricey for what they are.
I really enjoyed the shakes. They are made with real ice cream and milk. I especially loved my cinnamon toast crunch milkshake, but they need a bigger straw because there’s Cinnamon Toast Crunch pieces that got stuck in the straw! Still I really enjoyed it, much better than soft serve.
Our burgers were also decent. I actually preferred the Sweet Bacon. My A. 1. burger tasted strongly of Worcestershire sauce, leading me to believe it wasn’t made with A1 sauce but a ketchup and Worcestershire substitute. The patties were a good size and I loved the softness of the bun. I also liked the cheddar and Swiss cheese in both burgers, it had me very relieved that not all burgers had American cheese.
And the fries… may look house cut but they tasted frozen. Actually they tasted exactly like McDonald’s fries. So if that’s your thing, get the fries!
I would return, especially since when you sign up for rewards you get free Irish nachos ($6.69) ! I wouldn’t get the fries, but I’ll definitely get a burger AND a shake again.
