I regularly buy the same item — two footlong veggie patties — and I always request the patties to be warmed in the microwave before toasting, otherwise they stay cold in the middle. I asked politely, and there was no one else in line, but the employee refused and insisted “it will be the same.” I explained that I eat this sandwich 3–4 times a week and I know the difference, but she became rude, raised her voice, and even muttered things in another language. She then took the patties to the back, pretending to warm them, while loudly talking with another staff member about the situation, again in another language. It was extremely awkward, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I’ve worked in food service myself for years, and I know basic customer service. This attitude was unacceptable. If there had been any other option nearby, I would have walked out immediately. I have already reported this incident to Subway head office because this level of behaviour is not tolerable. Staff need proper customer service training — and honestly, someone acting this way should not be working in a customer-facing role.
