Zero out of ten. Every year we order large custom gingerbread cookies for our kids with their names on them. This year my wife called Safeway about a week in advance and placed a clear custom order with the bakery. Seven-inch gingerbread cookies. Fully frosted. Kids’ names written on them. Ready for pickup on December 23rd. This morning, when she called to confirm a time for pickup, two bakery employees gave her attitude and argued with her, saying they “don’t do that” (frosting) and told her to come get them they have “plenty” in stock. She drove from Whitewood to Spearfish only to be walked out into the store and shown tiny pre-made gingerbread cookies sold by the dozen, no frosting, no customization. The original order was completely ignored. She left feeling dismissed and disrespected. I called the store manager expecting a resolution. To his credit, he did try. About ten minutes later, my wife received another call from the same bakery employee. No apology. Still rude. Still no ownership. She said they could frost the cookies and confirmed the order details again, size, frosting, names. I went to pick them up tonight after a full day of Christmas shopping. What did they do? They grabbed the same tiny pre-made cookies and slapped generic frosting on eight of them. No names. No size. Nothing we ordered. Then they tried to charge $20, the price for a dozen mini cookies. At that point it was last minute and we had no other option, so I paid. But we will not be shopping here again. The bakery department blatantly ignored a custom order twice, even after management got involved. That is not a mistake. That is refusal to do the job. The manager at least tried. The bakery staff did not care. My wife would never leave a review like this, but I will. This was terrible customer service from start to finish. Avoid this bakery.

Absolutely love shopping here, they always have really good deals. However as someone who spends between $500-$600 here every other week if not more. I do not appreciate getting yelled at by an employee for parking in an Online Pickup spot when the entire lot was packed full, except for the online and handicap spots. First time I ever did it and she told me, as we were loading our groceries, that their were plenty of spots to park and we can't be parking there. (Mind you we had been in there for approx. 45 min, so cars had cleared out) MMMMM that's weird because when I pulled in it wasn't, I had to WAIT to get a cart. Why go out of your way to chew a customer out like that, meanwhile every other online order spot was still open. Customer service could improve.

just called to ask if they had a drink in stock. Call was answered by "customer service" no hello. And lots of sighs as if my call was a big problem. Then, told it's not in stock which is fine but the person on the other end says "anything else" and I just say "oh that was all" no goodbye or thanks for calling just hung up. I don't usually write reviews but that just felt and sounded rude like I was taking his time out of his day. It took 30 seconds to check.
