Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customers generally praised the burgers and food quality, though there were complaints about cold fries and inconsistent preparation.
Service Issues
Multiple reviews highlighted frequent order inaccuracies and slow service, particularly during busy times.
Cleanliness
The restaurant was noted for being clean and well-maintained, contributing positively to the dining experience.
Customer Service
While many customers appreciated friendly staff, there were also reports of rude behavior and poor handling of complaints.

Slow, expensive, mediocre food. Friendly staff. Also awkward to see a manager wigging out behind the counter.

12/22/25 at 7:00pm order was incorrect received a burger instead of chicken that was ordered. Order was placed in to go bagging despite being ordered for dine in. Resturants quality as of late has dropped off sharply, my suggestion would be correct issues with new hires or get the old staff back.

Kinda glad local folks still haven't adopted this location as a go to for lunch. Watching the lines backed up at Chik Fil A while we enjoyed our freshly prepared Whataburgers and fries was an extra treat. Expect the biz will grow as hungry folks look for a queued line alternative. We love Chik Fil A too but not every meal. Prompt and courteous service here, too. Keep up the good work. They will figure it out eventually and you'll be busier.
