I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at this Wendy's tonight was incredibly upsetting. I am a mother of six, and after a technical error with the app, I was treated with complete disrespect by the manager.
I placed an online order that initially declined, so I ran it again. I checked my husbands bank account and saw I had been charged twice. When I went inside to resolve this, the staff was dismissive, telling me it was just "pending," even though the funds were already pulled from my account.
Because I was ordering for a family of eight, I knew it was a lot of food. I felt bad for the large order and told the staff, "I am so sorry [for the large order]."
Before I could even finish my sentence, the manager snapped at me: " No, you're really not"
I was shocked. I was trying to be polite and mindful of their workload, and she chose to be hostile and insulting. When she realized she had crossed the line, she tried to backtrack and claim she meant I "shouldn't" be sorry, but her tone was clear. She even offered to help carry my food to the car afterward, but after being insulted, I didn't want her help.
I understand being short-staffed is stressful, but mocking a polite customer for the size of their order is unacceptable. Another customer in the lobby even mentioned the same manager had been rude to her in the drive-thru. Between the double charge and the manager's attitude, this was a terrible experience.
