- CHCaylee HoffmanNov 2, 20251.0i came to the north myrtle beach location tonight, i go frequently. i usually tip. im a barista myself and actually just opened up a mobile coffee trailer in north carolina. tonight me and my boyfriend got two drinks. $12.93 and just gave the girl 13, told her to keep the change so we didn’t have loose change being handed back to us. she takes it and says “thank you!!…yayyy seven cents.” first off, who is she to know that we aren’t regulars up there who tip 20% every time and just so happened to not have it tonight. a tip is a privilege and something extra if someone has it. you can think those things to yourself, i never thought someone would outright say it to our face. who’s to say we weren’t going to hand her an additional dollar to add to the 7 cents before she said that. not how you handle the tipping industry. i’ve had some situations happen to me but would never handle it that way.
