Post House is a coastal tavern and inn in Mount Pleasant’s historic Old Village, offering seasonal fare, classic cocktails, and seven cozy guest rooms. Just minutes from downtown Charleston, it’s a welcoming spot for dinner, drinks, or a weekend getaway. With charm, character, and a bit of salty air, Post House invites locals and travelers alike to settle into village life.
I’ve had the chance to dine here twice, and each visit felt like a truly special escape.
This restaurant has a soul — a rare and precious atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, you feel at home: warmly welcomed, cared for, almost pampered. Everything is done with sincerity and attention to detail.
The dishes are full of flavor and beautifully executed, with a true mastery of taste. The menu evolves regularly, offering something new and exciting each time. You can really feel the freshness of the products, handled with care and intelligence.
The service is exceptional. The servers truly know the menu inside out — they understand every dish and every recommendation they make. You can trust them completely and follow their guidance with your eyes closed.
As for the kitchen team, to remain completely neutral, I will simply say: a big bravo and thank you for all the hard work and dedication you put into what you do.
The entire team is attentive without ever being intrusive. You genuinely feel at the center of the experience.
It’s a place you wholeheartedly recommend… and at the same time, almost want to keep to yourself, because it feels so good to be there.
There is something deeply soothing about this place — like a poetic pause in a world that sometimes moves too fast. You can truly slow down, breathe, and unwind.
The patio is simply remarkable — a small bubble of comfort where you can enjoy a good drink, a beautiful dish… and desserts that are absolutely outstanding.
The cocktails are delicious, the atmosphere is gentle, and every detail feels thoughtfully crafted to create a sincere and memorable experience.
A truly beautiful experience — one to enjoy again and again

Anniversary weekend trip to a family owned condo to find the A/C quit working sometime
Saturday. Was able to get a technician out but he wouldn’t arrive till 6pm, reservations were at 815pm. Around 745pm I realized we weren’t going to make it. I called the Post House and they told me we see yall are celebrating an anniversary. When I confirmed they said don’t worry we will have a table for you whenever yall get here. We finally arrived at 845pm and they clearly saved a table for us during a busy Saturday. The cherry on top was an anniversary card signed by some of the staff. It was a special night with a lovely meal and excellent service. Well done Post House you now have become our favorite restaurant in South Carolina.

The Post House Inn was great. We sat outside - perfect temperatures & atmosphere. The food delicious! But the best, most memorable part of the meal, our server, Morgan. He was attentive, funny and on top of his game. I know I’m high maintenance - but he didn’t make me feel that way. Without a question he made our experience go from great to exceptional. Ask for him!

One of the most memorable lunches I’ve ever had!
From start to finish; the cocktails and food were amazing! But even better was the service! Morgan made my experience at The Post House a lunch to remember. If you’re ever at The Post House I hope you get seating with Morgan!
