- RSRyan ShepherdNov 5, 20252.0I usually buy my steaks from Harris Teeter and they’re always pretty good, but I decided to try this butcher hoping for something better. I picked up two strips and two filets which cost about 100$ for all 4. One strip was great, but the other was almost inedible. My roommate spent five minutes chewing each bite, and when I tried it myself, I understood why. It was tough and just really bad. Two nights later we went to cook the filets, and when I opened the package, they were already discolored and starting to harden around the edges, clearly starting to go bad after just one day in the fridge. For the price, it just isn’t worth it. The grocery store steaks are better quality, larger, and cheaper. I really wanted to support a local butcher, but this was a big letdown

- JLJeannie LsJun 23, 20255.0I went to the IOP NY Butcher Shop. Ordered their Wed roast beef and veggies with potatoes mashed. We ordered 3; 1 for my elderly mother and 2 for my family. We were also told to get a side salad for each pan, which was a nice surprise...any salad in their fridge. WOW! What a very nice dinner and so satisfying. It was delicious and seasoned perfectly. It was a no cook night for us; it was such a treat. I think we're going to order the chicken dinner tonight from their NY Shop in Nexton. I'll let you know how that turns out. If it's anything like the roast beef, it will be yummy!

Now I’ll never hesitate to tip 20% when served at a restaurant; a bar; or even a coffee shop when ordering something other than a black coffee. However, being presented with the tip screen while spending $115 on pork chops out of the display case in a butcher shop is a little awkward.
