This was our first time visiting the restaurant. We were interested as we love the chips the company makes, along with their dips. We were sat pretty quickly when we arrived, staff was polite. We ordered guacamole and white cheese dip. Guacamole was not guacamole at all. It was mashed avocado with nothing else added to it (trust me I looked). The cheese dip was OK, little runny to my liking. Everyone ordered something different off the menu. My friend received the wrong food that ended up burning her mouth from the spice. The chicken for the burrito and the birria meat was dry even with added sauce. The rice and beans had no flavor to them and seemed dry as well. The waiter did take a while to come back to the table to check on us considering how slow it was. Overall, this will not be a restaurant I'll be visiting again.

After supper on a Sunday evening, we had an inexperienced server, but the food was good although the beef fajitas was fatty.

Food and service were top rated! This is a place to visit for lunch or dinner if visiting. If in the area again I would come back.

I have been coming here for dinner really as far back as I can remember. I’ve had birthdays, graduations, and all kinds of celebrations include plans to eat here because of the outstanding, one of a kind dish this place made. A skillet filled with chicken, cheese, onions and bits of green pepper served with tortillas on the side. I say made, because tonight after all these years they changed their policy to not make things that are off the menu anymore. I ended up ordering my backup dish, the southwest chicken tacos, which thankfully was still on the new menu, but it had been changed too, removing the seasoning on the chicken and the fried onion strips and replacing them with onions and unseasoned chicken. The result was something I could have made myself. My wife’s dish had changed too, and we left the restaurant knowing this would be our last time if this is the new normal. This is a huge bummer because the one thing that made On The Border irreplaceable for me is gone, my backup and my wife’s favorite changed for the worse, and while I don’t run a restaurant, it’s insane to me as a customer because there is no other restaurant I can think of that serves THAT dish so I can’t even go somewhere else for that experience that I am going to miss dearly. All that to say that On The Border should bring back the old menu and reinstate their policy to make off the menu items.
