- MPMarni PetersFeb 22, 20261.0I don't like giving one-star reviews but I also don't want someone else to experience what I did. Super bowl weekend we were looking for fresh oysters. Hooked had a special so we thought we'd try them out. I bought two of each kind to take home and try before we bought $100 worth of oysters. (They said they weren't allowed to let me try one in the store. Even if I paid for it) . When I get them home and my husband opens the bags it's very obvious they were spoiled. I've been an oyster lover from the Chesapeake Bay area my entire life so I know what an oyster should smell like. I returned to Hooked and ask for a refund for my four oysters which cost me $6.50 and let them know that the oysters were spoiled. Not only did they refuse to give me my small refund but they challenged the fact that they were spoiled. So I learned a $6.50 lesson never step foot in Hooked again. Truly sad since I enjoy supporting my local businesses. In addition they could use a little education in customer service I hate it when I go to spend my hard earned money and the business owners act entitled and arrogant. The only positive part was the young man who helped me. He was kind and empathetic. I'd hire him in a minute!

It was my first time making mussels and these were definitely good quality. Also at $5.99/lb they’re quite affordable. It was a nice treat to make and I’ll definitely get more the next time I’m in the mood
