- DTDee TurnerApr 4, 20265.0WHAT A TREAT! Celebrated my friend‘s birthday here. The independent took great care to make her birthday feel special. They had gift bag and birthday card on the table. Just WOW. All of the staff was super attentive. Our server, Malachi earned 5 ⭐️. We had scallops, filet mignon, whipped potatoes and creamed collards. I have never had collards prepared this way and probably won’t eat them any other way now So good! Highly recommend you dining here. I can’t wait to go back.

Our food was amazing, but honestly it was a tough decision given the variety of options on the menu. We tried several appetizers with one being better than the next. I had the Scallops which were perfectly prepared and fork tender. My husband had the short rib, also incredibly delicious. The bar serves some local lore themed cocktails which were quite tasty. Finally, the manager Jenn made everything run smoothly, quite impressive considering how busy the restaurant was; and our server Sam did an amazing job. I would definitely recommend The Independent, located in the elegant George Hotel.

Cuisine was exceptional - service top shelve - excellent dining for a couple(date night) - nice casual dress - very uniquely prepared - very fresh - just loved it!
