  Me and my family went to oasis because we wanted to support a black business. We had already heard the restaurant was good from several people, but they mostly ate for brunch. However, we came for dinner and had a completely different experience. The staff First off when we were sat down our waitress seemed confused and unprofessional. She had an AirPod (talking to her mom) in her ear and was distracted by other tables. When she brought our stuff out she didn’t even know who got what, even for the drinks. She also would walk away and not ask any questions about how we were doing. When we confronted her she had an attitude and was confused. The other waitress who had to serve a big table did the work for her and apologized on her behalf. She also explained why some of our food was taking so long and checked in on us frequently (please use this waitress as an example when training staff). The wait We waited so long for everything it was ridiculous. We didn’t get our drinks for over ten minutes when we ordered them. Thankfully we ordered an appetizer not knowing how long we had to wait on our food. Over an hour had passed and the FIRST plate came out. My other three family members got their plate 30 minutes after, and I got my plate 30 minutes after them (pasta dish) which the good waiter had to explain that they ended up making the sauce by hand. But that is still no excuse for waiting over two hours. When we asked for a manager, we still had to wait over 10 minutes for her to come even though we could her standing at the bar. The food The food was ok. Like I always say the experience adds to the taste of the restaurant. My family’s food was fine even thought the lamb chops were tiny, my grandmas sides were cold, Mac and cheese was extremely dry. My food however, the pasta, was terrible. The sauce tasted like pure water, the noodles were drowning, there were no ingredients in the dish like the menu said, and it wasn’t even hot. The drinks (lemonade and sweet tea) had so much sugar in it, while the Pepsi was watery. Other comments When our unprofessional waiter was confronted about wanting a manager for the food and what not she tried to just blame kitchen staff as if she wasn’t part of the problem, as well as the restaurant. Most of us had no knives and when we asked for some she still failed to bring us knives the first time around. My grandma could not eat all day due to her medicine so it was very disappointing to have experienced service like this. No one should have to experience what we went through and have bad food in general. If you are going to make a restaurant train your staff on how to serve and cook, don’t do it for the aesthetic, because you won’t last long. We really do want this business to thrive but in order to do that please take your bad reviews into consideration and be resilient.

  Went to this restaurant with family to experience great food and supporting a black owned business. The only thing that is holding this restaurant back to become a thriving and successful business is its employees n service they provide to the customers that come in. What my family experienced while at the restaurant was unforgivable. The waitress we had attitude with us and didn’t know anything about the restaurant menu when we asked about the foods which were very limited. We waited over an hour for food to be served just to be served 10 minutes apart each so we all were eating separately. It to loud to the point we had to lean in and nearly yell to be heard. What is not understandable is that the restaurant was relatively empty with maybe two other parties in there but doesn’t make sense for the service to be so inconsistent. Once we speak our thoughts to the manager because at the end of the day yes the restaurant has its flaws but we still want to see this business succeed and thrive but the manager didn’t give nor show any energy to show any sympathy towards the situation and for that is the reason why I’m leaving this review. Overall be cautious of the service here. Don’t expect the service here to be quick and respectful service. Looking for a calm and quiet atmosphere may vary here and it’s NO kids menu

  My fiancé and I came in on yesterday to celebrate his birthday. Our experience was honestly horrible! After being sat by the hostess, it took about 10 minutes for a server to greet us. Not to mention they were not busy at all. Starting with the drinks, they served me “hot” lemonade as in it was heated in the microwave. Next the food, my fiancé and I both ordered the southern tradition entrees. He ordered chicken and ordered fish. The sides I ordered were the jambalaya and asparagus. The jambalaya was so cold and hard and had no flavor whatsoever. Instead of asparagus they gave me oily mac and cheese. The asparagus was brought out literally after I finished what I wanted to eat. I will say, after tell the server my issues, they slightly fixed the problem by taking my meal off. However we received no utensils, no refills, no napkins, no nothing! They should also tell you that add gratuity before just doing it. Especially when it was not earned. I am highly disappointed. And I felt really bad because it was my spouse’s birthday 💔

  Met some family members at oasis for my cousin‘s birthday dinner. Firstly upon entry, the ambience is absolutely amazing. The decor definitely sets the tone for the expected experience. Our server greeted us immediately as we were seated and began taking drink orders. She was absolutely amazing extremely friendly, and paid extreme attention to detail. Firstly, let’s get into these drinks!!! The drinks are absolutely amazing, exceptionally crafted and delicious! A few family members got starters salmon bites, which were absolutely phenomenal. I actually ended up getting an order of those to go, oysteroysters Rockefeller which were also a 10 out of 10 with exceptional presentation and spinach dip, which I would give an eight out of 10 only because I would have preferred a little more spinach in it, but the flavor profile was absolutely exceptional and paired well with the warm pita chips. For my main entrée, I got the oasis surf and turf, which for the price is an amazing steal. The meal comes with three lamb chops six extra large shrimp, a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus, which was cooked perfectly. Overall I rate the My meal a seven out of 10. I have a very sensitive pallet to sodium. However, the lamb chops needed to have a little more seasoning and they were supposed to come with chimichurri which pairs exceptionally well with lamb. What we received were dried herbs, either parsley or an Italian blend in vinegar. I sent the chimichurri back and I then received the same mixture and it appeared They had added in some olive oil, which is still not chimichurri, but outside of that my experience was a 10 out of 10 after dinner I went and sat at the bar and had a few espresso martinis with some old classmates and truly enjoyed myself. The music was amazing and the service was even better. I will be back!
