The Kingstide is Daniel Island’s first and only waterfront restaurant. Boasting a pristine setting along the Wando River’s meandering waterways, the beautifully appointed two-story space features an abundance of windows that maximize natural light and picturesque views. Envisioned and executed by renowned Charleston-based Cortney Bishop Design, The Kingstide’s rustic yet refined interiors offer a nautical nod that goes beyond coastal expectations
The menu offers a variety of seafood dishes thoughtfully presented in both raw and wood-fired preparations. Inspired by the beautifully simple flavors of the sea, The Kingstide partners with local and regional fisheries, farmers, and purveyors to showcase the Lowcountry’s bounty through fresh, seasonally driven cuisine.
The Kingstide is probably my favorite restaurant in the Charleston area. I’ve been several dozen times and it’s always a unique experience with great food, phenomenal service, and some of the best views in Charleston. Their menu changes enough to stay interesting every time we go, but the staples are always there. Our server last night, John, was very attentive to making sure all of my food was gluten-free with no cross contamination. There’s great GF options to choose from, even desserts. Everything from appetizers (oysters & ceviche) to mains (the steak!!!) to dessert always impresses. Parking is easy. We’ve eaten here with groups as large as 8. Reservations definitely recommended.

Feel now that I have been in a few times can leave a review. Very impressed by the many dishes I have had over my visits. Three times dining down stairs, twice at the chef counter its a nice experience & witness the great communication they have as a team to run efficiently. Enjoyed dining outside once downstairs as well then twice upstairs as Im aware they have different menus (definitely recommend the downstairs dining experience wasnt as impressed by upstairs). Upstairs 1 time I didnt enjoy the Tuna but that was 1 time everything else has been delicious. Tonight I had 1 cocktail that wasnt to my liking but they were very accomadating to get me something else. The flavor components that the chefs incorporate are very enjoyable. Look forward to my next visit. Also dont sleep on the cauliflower people. I go brussel sprouts a lot of the time but the cauliflower here is a favorite ever since they first recommended it now I get it every time. Thank you Grace for incredible service.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Kingstide on Daniel Island.
My fiancé and I were seated and placed our order, and shortly after, a group of women next to us ordered their food. Despite ordering after we did, their food came out before ours, which immediately raised concerns about how service was being handled.
When our food finally arrived, it was cold and tasted stale, like it had been sitting out for a while. For a restaurant with this kind of reputation and pricing, that’s simply not acceptable.
What made the situation worse was the noticeable difference in how we were treated compared to the table next to us. The level of attention and service they received did not match our experience, and it left us feeling uncomfortable and, frankly, stereotyped.
No guest should feel overlooked or treated differently. I hope management takes this seriously and works toward providing consistent, fair service to everyone who walks through their doors.

We chose this restaurant for something new. New vibe to it. right on the river. Food was very good. My husband had the flat iron steak and carrots (these were very tasty!) and I had the crab Pappardelle. So good. I also had the hush puppies. They were Cooked perfect perfectly, but had kind of a bland taste. My only negative thing if I were To say anything was it was freezing cold in the main restaurant. I would recommend that you asked to sit outside if the weather is decent. I definitely would make the drive to eat here again to try some other dishes.

INSANELY good vegan veggie plate with fire roasted fresh local vegetables and the tastiest sauces. So much so that I snagged the manager to thank him for having it on the menu and making it so good. The omnivores at the table were very happy too. Areas for improvement: hush puppies didn't come out as an app but the server removed them from the bill; I made a note in the Resy that we were out for my husband's birthday, but it was never acknowledged; the veg plate could use a grain and a protein to be a well-rounded meal.
