The Kingstide is Daniel Island’s first and only waterfront restaurant. Boasting a pristine setting along the Wando River’s meandering waterways, the beautifully appointed two-story space features an abundance of windows that maximize natural light and picturesque views. Envisioned and executed by renowned Charleston-based Cortney Bishop Design, The Kingstide’s rustic yet refined interiors offer a nautical nod that goes beyond coastal expectations
The menu offers a variety of seafood dishes thoughtfully presented in both raw and wood-fired preparations. Inspired by the beautifully simple flavors of the sea, The Kingstide partners with local and regional fisheries, farmers, and purveyors to showcase the Lowcountry’s bounty through fresh, seasonally driven cuisine.

I’ve been a loyal Kingside customer for a while now and usually dine here or The Dime once a week. It’s one of my favorite restaurants, and my family is even planning to spend Thanksgiving here this year. That’s why I was so disappointed with the service during my most recent visit today.
From the start, things were off. Our drinks were brought out incorrectly, though they were quickly corrected. The bigger issue was the timing and attention to our table. My daughter’s kids’ meal arrived roughly 30 minutes before mine, and all I ordered were the blackened mahi tacos. By the time my food finally came out, she was completely finished eating. It was clear that my meal hadn’t been rung in at all.
Our server, Maddy P, was polite and pleasant, but unfortunately very inattentive. She hardly checked on us, and I eventually had to flag her down to ask about my meal. When it finally arrived, I ended up eating in a rush just so we could get the check and leave.
I love Kingside, which is why this visit stood out so much in contrast to the consistently great experiences I’ve had in the past. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, because I truly want to continue enjoying this restaurant the way I always have.

Sean was an amazing waiter! The food was superb as expected. Kingstide was recommended by a friend and it didn’t disappoint, however, the shining star was Sean. He is an excellent asset to Kingstide!

We had the blackened Grouper, sore fish and pork chop; all delicious. Wood grilled kale salad was pleasantly nicely done. The She Crap soup was too creamy for me. Manager came/brought Brussel sprouts on the house and was done very well. Had great time.

We had another fantastic dining experience at The Kingstide. This time we sat downstairs, which offered a great atmosphere. Our waiter was truly exceptional. The service was one of the highlights of the evening.
As always, the food was excellent. We ordered one of the seafood towers, which featured a really fresh and delicious crab. The short ribs from the specials menu were truly amazing, tender and perfectly seasoned. We also loved the seasonal vegetables, which are always a reliably delicious side dish here. My only minor note was that the she crab soup had a little too much sherry for my taste, but it was still well-made.
For dessert, the crunch bar was an absolute pleasure—a perfect end to the meal. We enjoyed everything and will definitely be back again.

My fiancé and I had a dinner reservation here on the day we got engaged. Not only were the food and drinks AMAZING, but the staff were so sweet and made us feel special on an exciting day! Will definitely come back here next time we are in the area.
