The DIME – short for Daniel Island Market and Eatery – is your go-to place for fresh and fabulous gourmet grab-and-go items – as well as coffee, gelato, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and drinks. Opened mid February 2021, they’ve partnered with a celebrated Charleston purveyor for this Daniel Island gem. Located at The Waterfront – Daniel Island.
While many customers praised the food, there were several complaints about the freshness and quality, particularly regarding specific items like sandwiches and breakfast options.
Service Issues
Customer service experiences varied widely; some staff were described as friendly and attentive, while others were noted for being rude or inattentive.
Cleanliness
Multiple reviews highlighted concerns about the cleanliness of the restaurant, particularly in the dining and bathroom areas.
Atmosphere
The location and outdoor seating were frequently praised, but some customers found the atmosphere to be unwelcoming or chaotic.
Pricing Concerns
Several customers felt that the prices were too high for the quality of food and service received.

This is a great spot for coffee or a quick sandwich.
The outdoor seating area with a fireplace is especially nice—really adds to the cozy vibe.
One thing that could use improvement: all the milk options are sweetened except whole milk. There's no unsweetened one available, which is a bit disappointing. Some of my friends avoid it because a single drink can easily add 40–50g of sugar, and there's no real workaround—you can only add more sweetness with syrup or sweetener, not remove it. Offering an unsweetened milk option would make the place much more welcoming to a wider range of customers. Hope they consider adding it soon!
Let's be healthy!

I love this place and the location and I wish I could give more stars, however the bathroom and restaurant floors were SO DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY😬
And it was freezing the day we went inside the restaurant to eat🥶
I think the temperature should be comfortable, not too hot, not too cold. Having 3 exterior doors opening and closing doesn't help! While that might b convenient for customers, it lets out all your heat and AC. Yikes..freezing.
Management can do better!

The Dime is a special little breakfast and luncheon eatery on Daniel Island. It’s well located near a park and the river. Plenty of inside and outside seating, but also offers take away. The food is fresh and fantastic! If you’re in the area it’ worth stopping in for a pork roll on an everything bagel

I love the location. I love the coffee. I love the food and Casey always has a big smile and always welcoming... she could teach a class on customer service. However your other staff is dry doesn't smile not attentive. I brought a client there and we ate our $50 breakfast outside 35 degrees. I asked that they light the fire. I was told no... but how about at least HEAT LAMPS. Then we all can eat outside in comfort at least... but they laughed when I walked away..... RUDE. DISRESPECTFUL. I work in customer service and that is definitely not acceptable

Ordered an iced vanilla latte and it tasted super burnt tasting and not picky a person at all but couldn't drink it. Also ordered a breakfast burrito and it tasted very strange like the avocado was expired and again not picky but couldn’t even finish it.
