Stopped in for a cup of coffee before an orchestra performance. Walking in, we were unpleasantly surprised at a calligraphy class being hosted. The class in and of itself sounded fun, but the woman teaching it was using a PA system. The space being used would make it hardly necessary to use an elevated voice to have everyone's attention. It was loud enough to where the barista couldn't hear our order, nor could we hear the total. We left asap. Coffee however, was delicious and wouldn't hesitate to stop in again, provided there are no classes going on.

Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea on Park in Columbia is a really cute spot with lots of seating options, which immediately makes it appealing if you’re planning to stay awhile. There are cozy nooks with books, outlets built right into the floor, and plenty of space whether you’re meeting someone or settling in to work. The coffee here is great and definitely the highlight. They also offer a decent selection of food, though it’s pretty standard coffee shop fare—good, but not necessarily something you’ll be thinking about days later. Prices are right in line with other coffee shops offering similar selections, so nothing surprising there. The staff experience can be a bit hit or miss. Some team members were friendly and engaging, while others seemed more focused on their tasks than on customer interaction. That said, everyone was working hard, and no one had a bad or unpleasant attitude. Parking can be a little tricky and frustrating if you’re not familiar with the area, but there are good options. There’s plenty of parking available in the nearby garage as well as in the lot across the street, which helps once you know where to look. One thing that really stood out was cleanliness—the space, including the bathrooms, was very clean, which always makes a difference. Overall, Sweetwaters is a comfortable, well-set-up coffee shop with good coffee, plenty of seating, and a relaxed vibe. It’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a clean, cozy place to hang out, read, or get some work done. Like and follow me for more reviews 🍷😃. Bringing my honest experience to you so you know exactly what to expect one stop at a time!
