Located on Charleston’s Upper King Street, Indaco (Italian for “indigo”) serves rustic Italian cuisine. Wood-fired pizzas, hand-crafted pastas, housemade salami and cured sausages fill the restaurant’s menu which can be enjoyed family-style or a la carte. With community tables, an open kitchen, and a comfortable atmosphere, Indaco can accommodate 100 guests for a casual night of food and drinks. The wine list is focused on affordable Italian varietals, the Negroni cocktail is on tap, and the fresh sodas are made in-house.

Dwayne and Dominic were the managers on duty and Ashley was our server, and they were incredible! I made a mistake and made a reservation for the wrong night, but they were completely understanding and accommodated us for that night. The food was truly out of this world, each dish just got better and better. I cannot recommend this place enough! The service, the food, the atmosphere was above and beyond. 👌🏽

Upscale Italian restaurant with a twist. If your table is up to it, I’d recommend the chef special which means you get no say in the 3 course meal - chef picks. It’s a great way to try several different dishes. The restaurant does seem to rotate dishes to some degree; everything we tried was good. The ricotta cavatelli was my absolute favorite dish (our server also said it was his favorite) and the gelato for dessert.
I’m not sure if there’s a dress code, but it does appear to be expected - this makes sense to match the vibe of the restaurant. Definitely a good date night spot. I’d recommend reservations. Parking is tough to find, especially on a busy night so factor that into your time.

The atmosphere was great and the service was phenomenal! Such a beautiful establishment with the nicest staff. Makes for a great spot for a nice date. The food was pretty good. The pizza was solid but the fried calamari's breading just fell right off so I found myself digging for squid in a bowl of breading. Props to the bartender for the killer old fashioned though! There's also a huge wine selection so if you're a connoisseur this is a great spot to check out. Definitely bringing my family in the next time they're in town.

I had my birthday dinner this past Thursday at Indaco, and everything from the food to the service, to the prices..10 outta 10 experience. Taylor was my host, and she was the absolute most sweetest server I've ever had pleasure of meeting in Charleston. She was a true gem. Everything I ordered from the foccacia to the Spicy Sopressetta pizza, to the Chocolate Cherry Budino was PHENOMENAL!!! They even brought me a complimentary slice of Tiramisu for my birthday and a beautiful birthday card. Everything made my birthday feel very special. I'm so glad I choose Indaco for my birthday dinner. I'll definitely be back soon! Thanks so much again

Superb service, and the food was so good I returned the next night. There is an extensive list of Italian wines by the bottle, and several very good options by the glass. The staff all treated me royally. I was told that the menu changes seasonally. The quality of the food is top-notch. The pecan ragù over agnolotti was divine! Servers expertly helped with wine pairings. The side came with a generous serving of gorgonzola. Pizza crust is prepared and cooked to perfection in a wood oven. The restrooms are spotless. The large staff works very efficiently, humming along at capacity even on Monday and Tuesday night. A must when in Charleston!
