The staff was super friendly from the moment we walked in. Davide our server was well versed in the menu, attentive, and overall a delight! The Pineapple Paloma was deliciously sweet & tart. Food wise, we tried the crab soup (omg yum!) Other apps were the brussel sprouts & the crab cake and both were tasty & plated beautifully. Dinner was a mix of beef carpaccio which melted in your mouth but my FAVORITE was the bourbon glazed salmon over the cornbread risotto. 10/10 would recommend to everyone in Charleston, especially if you're over the overrated tourist spots.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Some girlfriends and I stopped for dinner after an event at the Gibbes and I’m SO glad they did. I was a little nervous about being able to find something to eat (being vegetarian) but they had a vegetarian-specific seasonal entree that was divine! The waitstaff was super kind and knowledgeable and was able to explain to me that the risotto was cooked with veggie stock etc. (it often isn’t). The fried green tomato salad was phenomenal and the beignets were heavenly - honestly I would go back and just eat plates of beignets 😂. Everything was beautifully presented too… I wish I had gotten a photo but we were having such a great time, I never had a chance! The space was cute and cozy. Small, but not too loud. About two doors down from the museum which was so convenient. It’s in the heart of the gallery district downtown so it would be a great place to go on ArtWalk nights! The BEST part of the night was Luis (Lewis?). I believe he was a manager? He was delightfully friendly and energetic and stopped to talk with us a few times. He even gave us multiple glasses of free champagne and talked us through where they were made, the flavors profiles, etc. (later found out he is a sommelier - makes sense!). He was a delight and so kind and the free drinks were unnecessary but SO enjoyed and appreciated!! Eli’s table may just be our favorite new spot downtown - we will DEFINITELY be back for more incredible deserts and convos with Luis! Would recommend everyone visit in a heartbeat!!

Eli’s table is our favorite restaurant in Charleston. We live in Vermont and try to get to Charleston at least yearly and we always make reservations for Eli’s table for one of our nights ( usually the last night so we can savor the experience) I am a Shrimp and grits connoisseur (self proclaimed) if we’re here for a week I order shrimp and grits every night at every restaurant we go to! Each place is different in their style of preparation. This visit we were only in town for three nights, Hymans makes a good Shrimp and grits, very predictable and consistent. High Cotton disappointed me, the service and atmosphere was top notch. The Shrimp and grits really bad. I must say I was a bit apprehensive when I saw Eli’s had changed their Shrimp and grits recipe. But, OMG… they were perfect before, now they’re out of this world delicious! Many layers of flavor that all worked so beautifully together! Making me wish I had room for another portion but I was stuffed after the yummy fried green tomato salad, the three different kinds of breads they served and my huge portion of Shrimp and grits! My husband had the filet with pimento cheese mashed potatoes. He raved over and over on how delicious everything was. Our waitress, Leanne was so attentive and friendly and had the prettiest smile! She made great recommendations and we took her up on all of them! Alyssa, checked in on us to see how we were enjoying ourselves several times as well. Everyone was so nice and genuinely cared about our experience. We will be back every chance we get!
