  Loved that you could make reservations here. Both of us ate traditional menu items and had coffee. After seeing how good the bloody Marys looked going by I decided coffee, though delicious, was not the choice I should of made. Will be going back for a bloody Mary for sure! Enjoyed looking over the harbor while eating as well, but from the covered area staying warm.

  How unfortunate to report that this highly rated restaurant served me a bad meal and management did not offer me a solution although they admitted that the item in question was inedible. Upon request and with great resentment on part of the manager they did comp the bill but that did not cure the fact that the spoiled meal caused me to vomit at the table. How unfortunate... Update: This event caused me gastric distress and a case of food poisoning. I was out of work yesterday and today with Doctor prescribed therapy of Pepto Bismol by my side - a miserable experience. How very unfortunate...

  Came here as a tourist and I have not even tried a fraction of seafood restaurants around here but i’ll say that this is probably the place you want to visit. They had everything you could imagine from a seafood restaurant on the menu and the best part is that it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. This place feels fancy and luxurious without the price tag. We decided to try this place in the short amount of time visiting newport based off the large number of positive reviews. We came for lunch and we were in and out in 40 minutes. And the food was great. Our waiter was polite and attentive and a big reason why we were in and out so quickly (which i see as a win). I know newport is full with older, wealthy, upper class but being in my mid 20s from Boston this place is good, anyone who says otherwise is grumpy. Great value, Great staff, Great location

  Came in for a party of 4 last night to celebrate my girlfriends new job and it was also her first time there. Everything was fantastic, her filet was cooked perfectly as we're my scallops. My guest's meals were great which were the sole milonese and the crab cakes . The wine menu was fantastic and so was our waitress, unfortunately after some wine and a couple outstanding Nespresso martinis I forgot her name . Will definitely be back .

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable evening at The Mooring! We were two couples went out to dinner at The Mooring, and from start to finish it was an exceptional experience. Our server, Johnny, was absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely engaging. A manager (Sean, I believe) stopped by our table several times to check in, and between Johnny and the manager, we truly felt like old friends catching up rather than guests at a restaurant. That warmth and personal connection made the night so special. The entire staff works seamlessly as a team and truly makes you feel right at home. Our table location was perfect, and even the food runners impressed us—each dish was delivered to the correct person without hesitation, even with substitutions, which is such a thoughtful touch. All four of us ordered the filet mignon, and every single one was cooked to absolute perfection. For dessert, the salted caramel gelato with chocolate chips (the special of the day) was outstanding, as was the crème brûlée. We loved our experience so much that we made reservations on our way out to come back in February—and we honestly can’t wait to return. The Mooring is a must-visit in Newport!
