Recommended by the locals, but I thought the food was mediocre. Can get very crowded. Seating very close .

The Halibut was overcooked and burned on the top, and was served on a bed of what seemed to be the Kale and Sweet Potato salad I’d had earlier, only doused in an admittedly tasty, and somewhat tangy sauce. “My bad” for ordering it. My companion’s soup came cold and had to be sent back. Her inelegantly plated gnocchi also arrived cold, and when it was returned to her, the gnocchi were warmer, but the sauce remained cold. The bland gelato desserts were served with an unremarkable mascarpone and substandard caramel drizzle. At that point, it just felt to me like an insult. The serving staff were great, but the manager dropped the ball by visiting us and weakly asking us if everything was “now okay,” rather than offering some compensatory gesture. At that point, we both just felt disappointed and embarrassed to complain more. Overall, not worth the money and uninspiring.

I’m so glad I tried Bar ‘Cino in Newport!
I actually went two nights in a row — Monday (11/10/25) and Tuesday (11/11/25) — with no expectations, just wanting to try their rigatoni bolognese. Wow… probably one of the best I’ve ever had! It was so good, I had to come back the very next day.
The staff there are amazing. From the moment we walked in, the host made sure everything was perfect, even seating us a little earlier than our reservation — such a thoughtful touch.
Our servers were fantastic. On Monday, Michaela was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and gave excellent wine recommendations. On Tuesday, Julia was just as incredible — sweet, personable, and made our dinner feel extra special.
I can’t wait to go back — not just to say hi to Michaela and Julia, but also for that unforgettable rigatoni bolognese and their heavenly tiramisu. Huge thanks to the whole team for creating such a warm, welcoming atmosphere — it really makes the experience feel special. 🤍

This is the quintessential Newport restaurant: snobby, overpriced, and utterly bland with lousy service. I was completely underwhelmed the first time when friends took me there for the lemon chicken. A second visit trying different dishes was even worse. You could literally just boil or bake your food without any seasoning and it would taste like what these guys give you. And it would be a lot cheaper. Save your money and just go to Olive Garden or some other chain.

Shout out to the attentive hostess; though there was initially a bit of a wait, the hostess was extremely friendly and offered me a place to sit down. Their automated text for when a table was ready bounced back for my phone, so she came to look for me, and she gave me a spot at the bar with an open seat next to it so that I could set down my bags with a little more space. The service itself was nothing to write home about in comparison, but the hostess set a warm opening tone for my visit even while having to wait.
