  22 Bowers is excellent. The location on a peire was beautiful. Tons of shops around. We chose to be seated inside for the A/C. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We started with very yummy salads. Then our beautiful steaks and great side dishes. 22 Bowen's is a must go too!!

  Nice location, good food,good prices (was restaurant week so that helped a bit. Beef Wellington came out almost raw on the inside, but when they returned the dinners to the table, they were absolutely one of the top 5 in my life. Enclosed outdoor seating area was a bit of a disappointment as temperature had a 20 degree swing when the forced air heat blower cycled off. Big turnoff was the NYC-ish 26 dollars to park in the lot for about 75 minutes. Did not see an hourly rate sign or I would have definitely found a street spot!

  Everything was amazing! The food was delicious, with each dish expertly prepared and bursting with flavor, from the savory oysters and calamari to the perfectly seasoned steaks and seafood. The atmosphere was cozy and beautifully set up with warm lighting, comfortable seating, and tasteful decor, creating an inviting environment. Service was attentive and friendly, with prompt responses to our needs. Prices were very reasonable and matched the high quality of the food perfectly, offering great value for a memorable dining experience. Additionally I made some of most beautiful photos of the sunset. It was incredible and great to see it even as a local person. Thank you! Srdan Dokovic

  Our recent dining experience at 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille in Newport, Rhode Island, was nothing short of exceptional, and I can’t wait to share why this gem at Bowen’s Wharf deserves a glowing review. From the moment we arrived, the vibrant yet welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a memorable late lunch. Despite the restaurant being bustling with guests, the hostess promptly greeted us with a warm smile and swiftly escorted us to a beautifully set table overlooking the picturesque harbor. The view alone was a treat, with the gentle sparkle of the water and boats in the marina creating a quintessential Newport ambiance. Our waiter, Filipe, was an absolute delight, attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, he made us feel like valued guests from the start. We began our meal with a selection of fresh oysters, which were impeccably shucked and brimming with briny, ocean-fresh flavor. Next came the lobster bisque, which was nothing short of divine. The soup was velvety, creamy, and bursting with rich lobster essence, with a generous portion that felt indulgent yet perfectly balanced. It’s easily one of the best bisques we’ve ever tasted. For our main course, we opted for 22 Bowen’s famous fish and chips, and it did not disappoint. I was initially concerned about the dish being heavy or greasy, as fried foods can sometimes be, but I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was perfectly cooked, encased in a light, crispy batter that was flavorful without a hint of excess oil. The fries were golden and crisp, complementing the fish beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the kitchen’s skill and commitment to quality. The entire experience, from the seamless service to the outstanding food and stunning harbor views, made our afternoon unforgettable. 22 Bowen’s captures the essence of Newport’s charm while delivering a dining experience that exceeds expectations. We’re already looking forward to our next visit and wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Newport.   This has been my 3rd time at this establishment and will also be my last time. Yesterday 10/19 I reserved a table for a party of 9 to celebrate two birthdays. Drinks were absolutely horrible in fact we had to send one back and replace it with something else. The wedge potatoes on the steak fritas were also disgusting. At the end once the receipt was handed to use the waiter literally sat there as we pulled out our cards and wrote on the receipt a little privacy would have been great. With all this I ended up ADDING $100 dollars to the receipt BY MISTAKE AND GIVE another $104 In Cash. Today on 10/20 I check my account and noticed I was charged an additional $100 dollars so instead of paying $61.72 (this was after we paid with $470 dollar gift card we had) they charged me 167.00. I called and spoke with the “manager” explained very detailed what happened. He said please hold so I can see what I can do for you… after being on hold for 10 mins and going back and forth for another 20 mins. He asked me to provide my phone number because there wasn’t much he could do with the “outage”. So I asked what will be done once the outage is all set … He proceeds to blame me and state that even when the outage is fixed there isn’t much he will be able to do for me. Very confused as to why he even asked for the phone number if he knew nothing could be done to begin with. Needless to say that was 30mins ill never get back because nothing was done So my advice is PLEASE TRIPLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS AND HOPE YOU NEVER MAKE A MISTAKE because there is nothing they can do for you.
